Chuck Shuldiner (Death, Control Denied) frequently cited them as his personal favorite metal group.
The band refused to reform in 2007 when asked to play the Paris Metal France Festival with other reformed French heavy-metal legends such as ADX, Blasphème or Still Square.
In 2012 their singer, Christian 'Zouille' Augustin, released an album along with Satan Jokers' Renaud Hantson under the name Zouille & Hantson , simply called Zouille & Hantson .

In Sortilège's song Amazone, the lyrics describe a world where men have little power and instead, warrior women with ruthless behavior and stunning beauty reign supreme. These women are described as having bodies like goddesses and are as agile as felines, with long blonde hair cascading down their backs. However, the lyrics warn not to be fooled by this appearance, as these women hide a fierce passion for hunting, games, and battles that can intimidate even the strongest of warriors.
The song describes how these women are constantly adorned in new evening dresses that they keep for their own pleasure as they engage in activities that seem to be fueled by a sadistic enjoyment of cruelty. They are wild and savage beings, without any trace of kindness or upbringing. The concept of pity is foreign to them, and the only way out of their fights is through death.
Amazone paints a picture of a society where beauty is a weapon for women and reveals how easily it can be used to manipulate and dominate men. The song speaks to the idea that societal norms are created by people in power, and if we lived in a world where women were in control, things may not look so different after all.

@Veruon96 Sortilège were Chuck Schuldiners favourite band growing up so he used this intro on Evil Dead to pay homage to them:) It sounds great on both songs...
