Chuck Shuldiner (Death, Control Denied) frequently cited them as his personal favorite metal group.
The band refused to reform in 2007 when asked to play the Paris Metal France Festival with other reformed French heavy-metal legends such as ADX, Blasphème or Still Square.
In 2012 their singer, Christian 'Zouille' Augustin, released an album along with Satan Jokers' Renaud Hantson under the name Zouille & Hantson , simply called Zouille & Hantson .

The lyrics of Sortilège's song "Progeniture" tell the story of the birth of the son of Belzebuth and the destruction he brings upon the world. The song starts with the lines "Le fils de Belzebuth est né, Sa mère y a succombé" which translate to "the son of Belzebuth is born, his mother succumbed to it." The son drinks his mother's warm blood and kills her in the process. The next lines describe the son as a "damned killer and terror" who was placed in a monastery where he was influenced by demonic forces. He later destroyed the laws that hindered him and engaged in acts of terror against the monks.

Never paid much attention but the track does sound quite a bit like Raven's For The Future. Otherwise this band is fantastic. French metal as a whole is awesome. They have a slew of great bands ranging from death, thrash, black, heavy and so on.
