Soulfix/ Dirty Politics has made a major ruckus in the last 18 months, pioneering what is now dubbed the "electro-step" sound. Known for smooth electro hooks and nasty dubstep bass, soulfix, alone, and via his Dirty Politics moniker with Nicky Distraktion, has pounded away remixes and original material for some of
the hottest labels in the industry including Dirty Fabric, Big Fish, Simma, System, Atomic Zoo, Champion Beats, Bonzai, Bugeyed, and of course, his own imprint, Audio Planet Recordings.
The founder & long time host of "Analog Airwaves" on Digitally Imported Radio, finds
himself cutting the freshest most upfront electro house to the masses, on the 4th Thursday of each month, a time slot he alternates with Lazy Rich. Reeling in some of the sharpest guest talent in the game... artists like Felguk, JELO, Richard Dinsdale, D:Fuse, Blende, Will Bailey, Calvertron and several others who frequent the show, and contribute to it's listener base, that boasts 1200+ electro heads dialed in each episode.
Having maintained a packed DJ schedule for nearly a decade, live performance is
probably the most undeniable part of his game. The boy can rock. Fresh edits, mashups, remixes, bootlegs, acapellas and constantly improving turn-tablist skills, keep this hi octane performer in the hot seat, headlining gigs across Canada, in venue's like Celebrities, Gorgomish, Odeon, The Warehouse, Guvernment, Hush, Comfort Zone and massive festivals like VEMF, CEMF, Electronic Mountain Music Festival & Motion Notion. Having tied into the promo lists of some of the hottest labels and producers, expect the best tracks you haven't heard yet, flawlessly interlaced with the dirtiest basslines, and most timeless crowd favorites.
Absolutely exploding in 2010, soulfix & the Dirty Politics alias has sky rocketed to the
forefront of new electro music, charting with incredible consistency, hitting way up in the charts. "Extra Terrestrial Beings" hit #1 on Dancerecords.com, "Call of the Wild" hit #2 on Trackitdown.net, and "Slipstream" held down some top 10 real estate in the Beatport electro charts for a short while. Along side several other top 20, top 50 and top 100 chart hits, not only in the electro house genre, but also in the Trance charts, hitting #17 with "Riptide", & #41 in the Nu Disco charts with "Until Nothing". Receiving massive support from across the globe including spins from artists like, Paul Anthony & ZXX, Will Bailey, Lazy Rich, Hirshee, Fake Blood, Toby Emerson, General Midi, Porter Robinson, Alex Kidd, WoNK, Melting Man & Kerrie Nation, Keemerah, Bass Kicka, Steve Velocity, and many, many, others.
