La Isla Bonita
Soumia Lyrics

"La Isla Bonita"
Como puede ser verdad
How could it be true?
Last night I dreamt of San Pedro
A young girl with eyes like the desert
It all seems like yesterday, not far away
Tropical the island breeze
All of nature wild and free
This is where I long to be
La isla bonita
And when the samba played
The sun would set so high
Ring through my ears and sting my eyes
Your Spanish lullaby
The beautiful island
I fell in love with San Pedro
Warm wind carried on the sea, he called to me
Te dijo te amo
I prayed that the days would last
They went so fast
He told you, "I love you"
I want to be where the sun warms the sky
When it's time for siesta you can watch them go by
Beautiful faces, no cares in this world
Where a girl loves a boy, and a boy loves a girl
Last night I dreamt of San Pedro
It all seems like yesterday, not far away
La la la la la la la
Te dijo te amo
La la la la la la la
El dijo que te ama
He told you, "I love you"
He said he loves you
"La Isla Bonita" is a song by American singer Madonna, released in 1987. Soumia covered this song in Dutch, titled "Bonita." The song is about a girl who dreams of San Pedro, an island full of tropical breeze and natural beauty. The girl describes falling in love with San Pedro and being called by the warm wind to stay there forever. She mentions how she wishes to be where the sun warms the sky, where beautiful faces exist without any worries, and where love is pure and simple.
The song has a romantic and tropical vibe, and the lyrics bring to life the image of a beautiful island with a laid-back lifestyle. San Pedro here is not just a geographical location but represents a feeling, a state of mind where the worries of the world seem far away. The lyrics imply that San Pedro represents a dream-like state that we all yearn for in our lives. Overall, the song is a love letter to a place that symbolizes the human desire for simplicity, love, and beauty.
