I'm recalling times when I was small, in light and free jubilee days
I think back to my happy childhood days, where I felt carefree and joyous.

Old folks praying everybody swaying
I remember elders from my community praying together, moving to the same rhythm.

Loudly, I chanted my praise
I sang loudly with enthusiasm and devotion, praising God.

How I sang about the Judgment morn
I sang with reverence about the day of judgment, when we would all be held accountable for our actions.

And of Gabriel tooting on his horn
I sang about the archangel Gabriel announcing the end of the world with a trumpet blast.

In that sunny land of milk and honey
I imagined a place of abundance and happiness, free from all worries and troubles.

I had no complaints
I felt content and grateful for the blessings in my life.

While I thought of Saints
I contemplated the holy figures that I looked up to.

So I say to all who feel forlorn:
I offer a message to anyone who may be feeling sad or lonely:

Sing "Hallelujah! Hallelujah!" and you'll shoo the blues away
Sing praises to God with all your heart, and your worries and sorrows will fade away.

When cares pursue you, "Hallelujah!"
In moments of stress or anxiety, call out to God with a song of praise.

Gets you through the darkest day
Your faith and your song of praise will help you overcome even the most difficult challenges.

Satan lies awaiting and creating skies of grey
The Devil may try to tempt you or cause you to despair, but keep singing praises to God.

But "Hallelujah! Hallelujah!"
No matter what difficulties you may face, never lose your faith and your song of praise.

Helps to shoo the clouds away
Your devotion and your song of praise can chase away the darkness and bring light to your life.
