The music of Sound Horizon is generally presented in omnibus style; all of their releases have been in the form of concept albums. For tie-up material and releases without an overarching original story, the group performs under the name Linked Horizon. Both male and female vocals are utilized within Sound Horizon, with some singers being frequent collaborators. Usage of spoken word sections in the form of narration is common in their songs and can be heard in a variety of different languages. This narration is often reminiscent of anime due to the involvement of prominent voice actors/actresses in the group. A number of stylistic influences are also apparent in their music; these include progressive/symphonic rock, jazz, pop, opera, and metal. The group's lyrics are often mysterious and metaphorical and contain a variety of fantastical themes.

The crew admits that they have made a mistake and that their goddess, Thetis, is as fierce as the goddess of war, Pallas Athene.

Zima screams in fear.

The leader motivates his crew to move forward without fear.

The captain introduces himself and his ship, the world-famous beauty of the sea, Venus = Laetitia, on the Mediterranean Sea.

The captain introduces one of his crewmates, Yasuro, as a musclehead.
「宜しくな、嬢ちゃん」
The captain greets the young girl warmly.

The captain introduces another crewmate, Zima, as a suspicious person and a simpleton.

Zima reacts with surprise.

The captain informs the girl that there are many more foolish people on this ship and asks who she is.

The girl thanks the captain for saving her and reveals that she got caught in a storm caused by a siren and laments that she thinks everyone onboard her ship has drowned in the dark depths of the ocean.

The captain tells the girl not to cry anymore because the goddess of the sea is crying enough.
「…ってアナタ、その首飾りどうしたのよ？」
The captain notices the necklace around the girl's neck and asks about it.
「うわぁ…立ち直りの早い娘だねぇ…昔…溺れかけてたおっさんを助けた時に貰ったのさ、何でも命よりも大事なもんらしい…」
The girl tells the captain how she received the necklace from a man who almost drowned, and how it's more important than life itself.
「そのおっさんって私の父(パパ)よ、間違いないわ！生きてるの？生きてるのね？私の父(パパ)は、いーきーてーるーのーねー！！」
The girl is excited upon hearing that the man who gave her the necklace is probably her father and asks the captain whether he's still alive. She exclaims that her father is alive!
「うわぁ…あんたも生きてた…親父さんも生きてたんだ…あんたの仲間にも、他に生きてる奴がいるんじゃないか？」
The captain realizes that the girl's father is still alive, and he asks her if there are any other survivors onboard her ship.
「船を出して、今すぐ出して、出して、出してなさい、ふーねーをーだーしーなーさーい！！！」
The girl implores the captain to set sail immediately and to start searching for any other survivors as soon as possible.
「どひゃぁ～！！！！！」
The crew shout out a battle cry as they begin to row harder and harder, breaking through the waves.
