Blasphemous titles claimed for the pope have been embellished and enlarged over the centuries. But a few of these boastful claims appear in an ecclesiastical (Roman Catholic) dictionary, by Lucius Ferraris, entitled Prompta Bibliotheca Canonica, Vol. VI, pgs. 438, 442, article "Pope." The Catholic Encyclopedia, 1913 edition, Vol. VI, p. 48, speaks of this book as "a veritable encyclopedia of religious knowledge," and "a precious mine of information."

Christianity teaches that the pope is the Antichrist. The proud pontiff's official title is Vicar of Christ, meaning "in the place of Christ." Vicar of Christ translated into Greek is Antichristos, in English Antichrist, also meaning "in the place of Christ." Vicar of Christ and Antichrist are the exact same word in two different languages. Mike Oldfield was a teenager when he put this masterpiece together . There were none of the sophisticated tracking systems of today yet he was able to create this playing every instrument.
You must remember, he made this before the movie was made , this wasn't created for " The Exorcist " and there was no Virgin Records , this album was its inception .
Presently there are 4 incarnations of Tubular Bells , the original , Tubular Bells 2 , Tubular Bells 3 , The Millennium Bell and a remastered version of the original made in 2003 . Mike said he wanted to use some updated equipment that wasn't available in 72 . It's a superb work with a surprise guest as the Master of Ceremony introducing the instruments, I will not ruin the surprise , but you'll recognize and absolutely love who it is .
Also , on Mike's outstanding work , " Songs of Distant Earth , there is a track called " Tubular World " that has our favorite melody in it .

The whole Tubular Bells track is 26 minutes long and each instrument is performed by Mike Oldfield. It took him 2 years to complete the album.
