One Day

Under the moon
And thank God I'm breathing
Then I pray
Don't take me soon
'Cause I am here for a reason
Sometimes in my tears I drown
So when negativity surrounds
I know some day it'll all turn around because...
All my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
For the people to say
That we don't wanna fight no more
There will be no more wars
And our children will play
One day
It's not about
Win or lose
'Cause we all lose
When they feed on the souls of the innocent
Blood-drenched pavement
Keep on moving though the waters stay raging
In this maze you can lose your way (your way)
It might drive you crazy but don't let it faze you, no way (no way)
Sometimes in my tears I drown (I drown)
But I never let it get me down (get me down)
So when negativity surrounds (surrounds)
I know some day it'll all turn around because...
All my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
For the people to say
That we don't wanna fight no more
There will be no more wars
And our children will play
One day
One day this all will change
Treat people the same
Stop with the violence
Down with the hate
One day we'll all be free
And proud to be
Under the same sun
Singing songs of freedom like
One day
All my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
For the people to say
That we don't wanna fight no more
There will be no more wars
And our children will play
One day
The song "One Day" by Matisyahu featuring Akon was released in 2008 and is known for its message of hope and unity. The lyrics convey the idea that though there are struggles and hardships in life, there will come a day when people will come together, stop fighting and the world will be a better place. In the first verse, the singer expresses gratitude for life and prays to God that he may stay alive because he believes that he has a purpose in life. The second verse speaks about the role human beings play in creating a better world, and highlights the tragic consequences of war and violence, calling on people to treat each other with kindness and respect.
The chorus of the song introduces the idea of a world where there is no more war, and children can play in peace. The repeated line "One day" is a call to action, encouraging people to believe in a better future and work towards it. The third verse continues this idea, emphasizing the need for equality and freedom for all people, regardless of their background or ethnicity. The song ends with a repeated chorus, emphasizing the message of peace and hope.

Sometimes I lay
Sometimes, I lie down
Under the moon
Under the moonlit sky
And thank God I'm breathing
I am grateful to be alive and breathing
Then I pray
I then offer a prayer
Don't take me soon
Asking God not to take me away too soon
'Cause I am here for a reason
As there is a reason for me to live
Sometimes in my tears I drown
Sometimes, I am overwhelmed with sadness
But I never let it get me down
But, I do not let sadness get to me
So when negativity surrounds

I know someday it'll all turn around because...
I believe that someday, everything will get better

I didn't know about this movie until yesterday (14July2014), when I watched it with my wife to 'pre-celebrate' our wedding anniversary (which is actually TODAY).
We got stunned and touched! Not only by the romance of the story, but by the main date (15th of July) that regularly returns in this beautiful movie. Our life seems to have similar milestones...
15th of July was the date when we fell in love 15 years ago.
15th of July was the date of our wedding day 8 years ago.
15th of July was the date when our first son was born 7 years ago.
This wonderful soundtrack repeats in my mind all day...
All I can say now is Thank you and God bless!

"I love you Dexter, so much. I just don't like you anymore."
This line always makes me speechless, cause in some way or another, my parents are facing the same problem and it made me realise what it actually means to have this problem.
I am glad I watched this movie, it made me go through so many phases and in the end, I understood why people change so much over the years and why you see the right person sticking with you all along, only when you have been with all the wrong persons in your life.
And the last scene, where she walks away from him, and the street lights turn on, that scene was ambiguous. It held so many morals, so many broken hearts and opportunities and how you feel like you could just grab who you have loved all along, if only time could turn back.
Not to mention, this so so so so good and really amazing theme of "One Day" says so much in the mere 3-5 minutes. It makes you vulnerable.
It is so poignant yet so realistic at the same time. Despite the tragic ending, I love this movie with the core of my heart.

One day has been my favorite movie for years. Every time I hear this song I think of my grandparents who are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. I remember seeing them lying in bed next to each other looking at the window and asking each other how the clouds look like castles. Love is not just kisses and saying "I love you", love is supporting and being present in good times and bad.
