Some walk by night
Some fly by day
Nothing could change you
Set and sure of the way
Charming and bright
Laughing and gay
I'm just a stranger
Love the Blues and the Braves
There is the sun and moon
Facing their old, sweet tune
Watch them when dawn is due
Sharing one space
Some walk by night
Some fly by day
Something is sweeter
When you meet 'long the way
There is the sun and moon
Facing their old, sweet tune
Watch them when dawn is due
Sharing one space
So come walk the night
Come fly by day
Something is sweeter
'Cause we met 'long the way
We'll walk the night
We'll fly by day
Moonlighting strangers
Who just met on the way
Who just met on the way

Hi Sandrine.
Up late watching how the series :
Moonlighting came to be.
Noticed your thought.
And, you are 1000% right!!!
The lyric is: they sing there own sweet tune.
As a songwriter of over 50 years, I can say from experience, when there is a song of this caliber, with words assembled with this magnitude of finesse and eloquence; performed and written with such rare perfection as only Mr. Jarreau can deliver, one can only understand his blessed talent could have only been given to him as a sacred gift.
By the way, Lee Holdridge , who wrote the music has a beautiful story on how he begged Al Jarreau to write and sing it.
You can pull it up on you Tube.
And lastly….. those dates under the lyrics above of March 1944 to February 2017 are to memorialize Mr. Jarreau.
He gave the planet 77 glorious years of sweetness………
Continue resting easy Al….. and yes,
we miss you very much….. your music lives on forever and ever!!!
With love,
Rain

@@SandrinesVoxServicesI'm not certain of the lyrics of this song one way or the other. But I will tell you this, your words could easily be correct, and I'll tell you why.
Most people who post lyrics in YouTube comments naturally just copy them out of lyric sites. And the lyric sites universally, essentially 100 percent of the time, have intentionally altered lyrics...a word or phrase altered here or there. It'll seem plausible to those who don't really know the lyrics already, but stands out like a sore thumb to those who do, and is confusing to those who weren't really sure, but thought the real words were a bit different.
The reason is one or both of the following. One, to avoid copyright strikes. Although I think the lyric owner companies themselves hire professionals to "obfuscate" the lyrics and provide them to the lyric sites. And that leads to the second reason. I think it's partly the same reason that cartographers put tiny fake islands in the middle of the oceans of their maps, so they can tell who is copying their maps.
So point is, go back and listen to the lyrics again. And if you're really 100 percent sure you're right...then you probably are.
Personally, I don't know about this particular song. But these lyrics sites, as a nearly universal rule, have one to several incorrect words or phrases hidden sneakily in essentially 100 percent of their lyrics. And the "mistakes" are of a recognizable pattern, once you start to notice it. So I think it's a small group of people...professionals, probably professional hired songwriters, who are contracted to pump these variations out, and get them into the lyrics sites. 😉

This song and show absolutely captivate the feel of growing up in the 1980s. Such a wonderful time!! I pray kids one day will have the innocence and joy we felt growing up in this time.

They will, in their own way. People from the 60s were saying that about us.
@7thvenom
I think its much different now.....times are bad now
@djesanto
Nostalgia is the strangest feeling. Hearing such beauty makes me both happy and sad. I miss the 80s.

@shareofmoney
That’s such a great way to put it. There is joy because you experienced that time but sorrow in the fact that some of the simpler times have gone away!
@MrSilver2509
I do I miss the 80s
