Band Members:
Founding members Paco Estrada (vocals), G.I. Sanders (guitar), and Chad Abbott (guitar), were the mainstays for the band, performing on every recording and at every show during the band's existence. Dave Shafer (bass) and Tabber Millard (drums) were also members of the band at the end. Other members included Moe Martinez (drums), Doug McGrath (bass), Spencer Estep (drums), and Scot Risch (bass).
History:
Drama Kids (2001-2004)
Drama Kids was originally released by Dallas based indie label Brando Records, and later re-released nationally by MCA. The lead single, Dear Claudia, received good airplay in the U.S. and was included in an episode of Law & Order SVU. Ken Shimamoto of the Fort Worth Weekly said Paco Estrada's "pipes are strong and expressive enough to set him apart from the other 10,000 faceless, droning alt-rock angst-boys''. MCA closed its doors while SouthFM was touring in support of Drama Kids, leaving the band and album behind. Many MCA artists were merged into Geffen Records, SouthFM however, was dropped.
Swallowing The Pill (2005-2006)
After nearly two years of writing since parting ways with MCA/Geffen the band released their follow up album, Swallowing The Pill, yet again on Brando Records. Two singles were officially released to radio, Killing Me and Blue & Grey. The band toured regionally throughout 2005 and 2006, until their final show on October 28th, 2006 at the Curtain Club in Dallas, Texas.

To paint this picture for you
And try to get you to see
These words might have no worth
Unless you understand that
This picture wants to be free
And I've spent all this time
In a world that chooses victims for a faceless crime
You never see me when I'm blue, blue, blue and grey
There's not a day gone by
That I don't see this picture
Reveal itself in my head
But everyday I try
To prove to you I'm alive
Though parts of me might be dead
And I've spent all this life
I'll carry the burden of a beaten wife
Raped and bruised and battered by the hurt not seen
You've got to be strong and proud
Don't let the loss of dignity get you down
You're more then just the flower in the field he found
Silence can't overcome with a truth so loud
The lyrics to SouthFM's song Blue and Grey speak of the pain and struggles of someone who feels unseen and unheard. The singer has collected all these words to paint a picture for the listener, trying to get them to see and understand what they are going through. The singer is essentially telling the person listening that these words might have no worth unless they can see the picture that wants to be free. The singer is frustrated that they have spent all this time in a world that chooses victims for a "faceless crime" that just adds to the statistics of the hurt not seen.
Furthermore, the singer tells the listener that they never see them when they are blue and grey, implying that the listener is not there for them during their worst moments. The singer continues to emphasize the struggles they face every day and the burden they carry. Even though they try to prove they are alive, parts of them might be dead. They carry the burden of a beaten wife, raped and bruised and battered by the hurt not seen. The singer is essentially trying to tell the listener that they are struggling and need help, but feel ignored and forgotten.
Overall, the song Blue and Grey is a powerful message about the struggles people face, especially when they feel unseen and unheard. It is a call for support and empathy for people going through tough times. The lyrics serve as a reminder that people should take time out of their lives to support others and be there for them.
