Band Members:
Founding members Paco Estrada (vocals), G.I. Sanders (guitar), and Chad Abbott (guitar), were the mainstays for the band, performing on every recording and at every show during the band's existence. Dave Shafer (bass) and Tabber Millard (drums) were also members of the band at the end. Other members included Moe Martinez (drums), Doug McGrath (bass), Spencer Estep (drums), and Scot Risch (bass).
History:
Drama Kids (2001-2004)
Drama Kids was originally released by Dallas based indie label Brando Records, and later re-released nationally by MCA. The lead single, Dear Claudia, received good airplay in the U.S. and was included in an episode of Law & Order SVU. Ken Shimamoto of the Fort Worth Weekly said Paco Estrada's "pipes are strong and expressive enough to set him apart from the other 10,000 faceless, droning alt-rock angst-boys''. MCA closed its doors while SouthFM was touring in support of Drama Kids, leaving the band and album behind. Many MCA artists were merged into Geffen Records, SouthFM however, was dropped.
Swallowing The Pill (2005-2006)
After nearly two years of writing since parting ways with MCA/Geffen the band released their follow up album, Swallowing The Pill, yet again on Brando Records. Two singles were officially released to radio, Killing Me and Blue & Grey. The band toured regionally throughout 2005 and 2006, until their final show on October 28th, 2006 at the Curtain Club in Dallas, Texas.
So That I Could Rescue You
SouthFM Lyrics

But I can keep placing down buckets for rain
I'd consider floating for hours
Across the atlantic sea
So that I could rescue you
So that you might rescue me
But i'm just killing
It's harder when two have this feeling
I'd consider floating for hours
Across the atlantic sea
So that I could rescue you
So that you might rescue me
But I'm just killing the time that I have left
I'm just wasting the years as they pass
It echoes in my mind
This story all too clear but I can't run away from here
Cause here is not a place
Here is just your face
The lyrics of SouthFM's "So That I Could Rescue You" convey the desire of one person to be there for someone they care about in any way they can. Though they may not have the power to fix all the problems that person has to face, they are willing to provide whatever support they can, even if it means enduring great hardship themselves. The image of "placing down buckets for rain" suggests a temporary solution to a problem that cannot be fully resolved. This person is willing to go to extreme lengths to save the one they love, even if it means making a dangerous journey across the ocean. They hope that their actions will lead to a reciprocal relationship where both parties can ultimately help each other.
However, despite the strength of their feelings, they feel stuck in a situation where they can't move forward. They feel like they are "killing the time that [they] have left" and "wasting the years as they pass," indicating a sense of frustration or hopelessness. They acknowledge that having these feelings is difficult enough when it's just one person in the relationship, but it's even harder when both people are struggling. Despite all of this, they feel trapped and unable to leave because "here is just your face."
