~ Southern Raiders Band ~
Bio:
The Southern Raiders Band (S.R.B.) began in early 1990 as a studio project. S.R.B. First called " Twilight Rose Band," but this was just a name used to send material to music publishers. The group was actually just different musicians and friends hired to lay down original music tracks that were being sent to the publishers. Twilight Rose had two ten song albums that were titled, "Planetary Escape," another titled, "Southern Raiders," the latter would later become the name of the real band instead of an album title. However; A couple years some events happened at the studio that would turn studio friends into one of the most recognized power groups to come out of the area.
A couple of S.R.B. members met through different channels of music being performed at the Square Jaw Ranch studio in Alcoa, TN. See 1srb.com Have an Awesome Day. Lee, Toby, Rus & Johnny ~ S.R.B. 1srb.com ~ blog.1srb.com
DONE SOMEBODY WRONG
Southern Raiders Band Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Well you woke up this morning with your head screwed on wrong
Lord you can't remember where this woman came from
Could have swore you didn't have that last drink
And if you had it to do again you'd rethink this thing
Well you had two shots too much down on bourbon street
And you run your mouth proud out in the street
Wondering who is looking for you and who you done wrong
Lord you done somebody wrong
Sometimes it's best to let a lying dog lie still
You try on someone new just to see how she feels
And if the skirts a little short and her legs are up to here
You may dive in baby I know just how you feel
Well good times are short and bad times are so long, long. Long, long
And life passes by as quick as a southern song
Just as sure as you think you've got it made
Comes round the grave digger and put you in your grave
Going to turn out your lights for you
Well we all have heard that you reap just what you sow
And if your garden turns up rocks you'll tote that load
But if an ear of corn pops up out in that field
Well I guess you'll do ok yea you probably will
But we've all been left standing holding a bag
Some was to smoke and some that we don't understand
But if we all leave here tomorrow
One thing we'll find is a little peace of mind
Yea a little peace of mind baby
Well you woke up this morning with your head screwed on wrong
Lord you can't remember where this woman came from
Could have swore you didn't have that last drink
And if you had it to do again you'd rethink this thing
Well you had two shots too much down on bourbon street
Now it's time to pay for what your mouth brought on
Wondering who is looking for you and who you done wrong
Lord you done somebody wrong
The lyrics of "Done Somebody Wrong" by Southern Raiders Band depict a narrative of recklessness, regret, and consequences. The opening lines describe waking up with a sense of confusion and disorientation, perhaps due to a night of indulgence. The singer is faced with the consequences of their actions, unable to recall the events leading up to their current situation. This theme of blurred recollection sets the tone for a story of regret and introspection.
The mention of alcohol and Bourbon Street alludes to a night of revelry and excess, where inhibitions were lowered and words were spoken carelessly. The lyrics suggest a sense of bravado and pride that may have led to conflicts or wrongs committed against others. The singer is now forced to confront the fallout of their actions, wondering who may be seeking retribution for the harm they have caused. The refrain "Lord you done somebody wrong" serves as a reminder of the weight of one's actions and the repercussions they can have.
As the song progresses, the lyrics touch on themes of temptation and consequences. The temptation to pursue fleeting pleasures and the allure of new experiences are portrayed, but the fleeting nature of good times is juxtaposed with the lingering impact of bad decisions. The imagery of life passing by as quickly as a southern song emphasizes the transient nature of time and the inevitability of facing one's own mortality.
The final verses of the song reflect on the idea of reaping what one sows and the unpredictability of life's outcomes. The metaphor of tending to a garden underscores the idea of taking responsibility for one's actions and facing the consequences, whether they be positive or negative. The quest for tranquility and peace of mind amid life's uncertainties is highlighted, suggesting a yearning for redemption or closure amidst the chaos and turmoil depicted throughout the song. The cyclical nature of actions and their repercussions is a central theme, leading the singer to contemplate their past deeds and the impact they have had on others.
