Space / The KLF Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Quiero bonito y sucio dinero
SPACE ERA
The lyrics of Space by The KLF express a desire for success and personal achievement, with the singer refusing to let the opinions or obstacles of others stand in their way. I'm going to step on everything to reach the top) embodies this sentiment, as the singer is determined to do whatever it takes to succeed. They acknowledge that they may come across as both strong and vulnerable, with the lines "Fuerte como Gyra blando como plastilina" (Strong like Gyra, soft like playdough) and "Aprendí a jugar sin reglas de la partida" (I learned to play without the rules of the game). The singer also expresses a desire for material success, such as "Quiero bonito y sucio dinero" (I want pretty and dirty money) and "Quiero una casa en el pueblo cuatro niñitos y un tomatero" (I want a house in the village, four children and a tomato farmer). However, they also emphasize the importance of personal values and growth, stating "Nunca perdí mis valores" (I never lost my values) and "Contigo no dejo de aprender" (I never stop learning with you).
Overall, the lyrics of Space convey a message of determination, personal achievement, and a balance between material gain and personal values. The singer acknowledges the difficulties they may face but remains resolved to reach their goals while also staying true to who they are.

One of my all-time favorites, and simply THE best study album of all time. I will forever be grateful to the Disc Exchange in Knoxville, blessed be its memory, for having this in the Import section one fateful afternoon.
@roxymuzak
Wow, wasn’t expecting to see a reference to Knoxville in the comments!

I bought a promo LP copy from eBay years ago.
Had the original samples in before the law suits removed them.
Also had a thermal printer ream of paper with the story of the voyage.
So wish the JAMs would return from self exile.
Made as a collaboration with the Orb if I remember right.
Thanks for sharing.
@vmlenigma

My mind is totally blown that I have only discovered this today. I'm a big KLF and Orb fan and never knew this existed. What a treat!
@col4022
Have a listen to 'chillout' by KLF too.

Some info on this..."When offered an album deal by Big Life, The Orb found themselves at a crossroads. Cauty preferred that albums by The Orb were released on his KLF Communications label, whereas Paterson wanted to ensure The Orb did not become an offshoot of The KLF. Due to these issues, Cauty and Paterson split in April 1990, with Paterson keeping the name The Orb. Cauty then removed Paterson's contributions from the recordings in progress and released the album as Space."
According to Cauty, "It was a jam, all done on my Oberheim keyboards. Loads of samples... were chucked in there as well. I started on Monday morning and by Friday it was all done". Cauty has called Space "a record for 14-year-old space cadets to go and take acid [to] for the first time".
@Pauldjreadman
I have only seen the vinyl once i think at a record fair which was a fair few years ago. I found out back then that the orb were involved then they split from Caunty and then released their own material.
