They also wrote an original song with Taiwanese singer Stanley Huang, "Spacemonkeyz Theme", which appeared as a B-side on "Lil' Dub Chefin'", and did a remix of the Herbert Grönemeyer single "Mensch".
Like the Gorillaz, they are a virtual band (though not to the degree that Gorillaz are). According to the fictional Gorillaz biography Rise of the Ogre the group is an actual team of monkeys used in space tests who had stolen the tracks from an unattended Kong Studios and remixed them without Gorillaz' permission.
Since the release of Laika Come Home the band has not recorded or released any new material. However, in 2005 and 2006 Darren Galea performed turntables as part of the Gorillaz live band on all of the Demon Days Live dates.

I'm buying lead Nike shoes
To keep myself tethered
To the days I try to lose
My mama said to slow down
You must make your shoes
Start dancing to the music
Keep a mild groove on
Ba ba ba
Day doo day bop
There you go!
Get the cool!
Get the cool shoeshine!
Get the cool!
Get the cool shoeshine!
Get the cool!
Get the cool shoeshine!
Get the cool!
Get the cool shoeshine!
There's a monkey in the jungle
Watching a vapour trail
Caught up in the conflict
Between his brain and his tail
And if time's elimination
Then we got nothing to lose
Please repeat the message
It's the music that we choose
Keepen my groove on
Ba ba ba
Day dee bop
OK bring it down yeah we gonna break out
Get the cool!
Get the cool shoeshine!
Get the cool!
Get the cool shoeshine!
Get the cool!
Get the cool shoeshine!
Get the cool!
Get the cool shoeshine!
Ah Ah Ah Ah
Day doo de bop
The lyrics to Spacemonkeyz's song Jungle Fresh are a commentary on the frantic pace of modern life, and the power of music to help us slow down and reconnect with ourselves. The opening lines of the song express the feeling of being overwhelmed by the speed of the world, and the need to find something to anchor oneself. The singer of the song turns to a material solution, buying lead Nike shoes, but his mother offers a wiser approach: to slow down and dance to the music of Gorillaz, which will bring happiness and calm to his life.
As the song progresses, the lyrics shift to a monkey in the jungle, who is caught up in the "conflict between his brain and his tail." This can be interpreted as a metaphor for the struggle between our rational and instinctual selves, and the tension that arises when we try to balance the two. However, the monkey ultimately finds solace in music, and the message of the song is repeated: it's the music that we choose that can give us a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
Overall, Jungle Fresh is a song that encourages listeners to slow down, let go of the pressure and anxiety of modern life, and reconnect with the joy and beauty of music.

@HitMeVideo SpaceMonkeyz was a musical group consisting of Darren Galea, Richie Stevens and Gavin Dodds. They came together when Galea created a dub remix of the Gorillaz' "Tomorrow Comes Today" , which Gorillaz founder Damon Albarn liked so much that he asked Galea to remix the whole album Gorillaz. The resulting album, Laika Come Home, was released in July 2002. The album's first and only single "Lil' Dub Chefin'" reached #73 on the UK Singles Chart.
