2) Sparkee was born of the eclectic atmosphere of the Brighton (UK) music scene in the late '90s.

Once described as "Indie Lounge Pop" the melodic and haunting vocals coupled with intricate compositions and compelling shifts of time signature gives the band a presence that enraptures and relaxes the soul.

The core membership consisted of songwriter and keyboard player Will Calderbank, lead vocalist and flute player Hilary Jones, Russel Bond on drums, the bassist Steve Last and vocals plus percussion brought by Fiona Stokes.

At Church Road Studios in Hove in May of 1998 the band recorded the "Sparkee Get Lucky" EP. This featured some favourites such as "Winsday Blues" and "Dog".

Along the way, various guest members provided a plethora of new instrumental flavours to the sound and, in their final incarnation, Dan Tish joined as lead guitarist.

Shortly after the "Life Raft" EP was recorded (in 2000) the band split. Sadly, there have been no plans for a reunion.
