The band's long career has seen them successfully adopt many different musical genres; including glam pop, power pop, electronic dance music and mainstream pop. Despite these many styles, a recognizable "Sparks sound" remains throughout, and they have enjoyed a large cult following since their first releases. Sparks have been highly influential on the development of popular music, in particular on the late 1970s scene, when in collaboration with Giorgio Moroder (and Telex subsequently), they reinvented themselves as an electronic pop duo, and abandoned the traditional rock band line up. In contrast to the esteem in which they are held by such peers as Depeche Mode, New Order, Morrissey and They Might Be Giants, who all cite Sparks as a major influence, their almost constantly changing styles and unique visual presentations have sometimes seen them dismissed as a novelty act.
The 2002 release of Lil' Beethoven, their self-described "genre-defining opus", and 2006's Hello Young Lovers (their 20th studio album) have brought Sparks renewed critical and commercial success, and seen them continue to "steer clear of pop conventions."
The 2021 documentary film 'The Sparks Brothers', directed by Edgar Wright, has renewed interest in the band for a new audience.
All You Ever Think About Is Sex
Sparks Lyrics

In the church at Christmas, busted by that nun
Then in that museum, beneath the mastodon
Stating our positions on the White House lawn
[Chorus]
All you ever think about is sex
All you ever think about exclusively
Say, do you remember the Dodgers and the Mets
Fifty thousand people saw us and turned red
I'm still not recovered from Saturday's faux pas
When your father came home, saw us, and dropped dead
[Chorus]
In a world of lovers, we don't love each other much
Fact is, we're too busy to love each other much
[Chorus]
The lyrics to Sparks's song "All You Ever Think About Is Sex" depict a relationship that is built purely on physical attraction and lust. The song talks about different locations where the couple has engaged in sexual activity, including in a church during Christmas where they were caught by a nun, in a museum beneath a mastodon, and on the White House lawn. These locations are meant to underscore the couple's insatiable desire for each other and their willingness to take risks to satisfy that desire.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "All you ever think about is sex" three times. It suggests that the relationship is purely physical and that there is little emotional connection between the two people involved. The song also mentions a moment when the couple was caught by the woman's father, who then drops dead. This moment is meant to be humorous and highlights the ridiculousness of the situation.
Overall, the lyrics to "All You Ever Think About Is Sex" are meant to be tongue-in-cheek and humorous. They poke fun at the idea of a purely physical relationship while also acknowledging that such relationships do exist. The song is a playful commentary on the nature of desire and lust in relationships.

It's insane how they went from pure glam rock to synth/new wave with such seamless ease.
@annabackman3028
And how they kept jumping around the musical genres, and when there was no fitting, they invented one! 💖

"We can't think of a music video so let's just throw cream pies at Ron."
@VoidEon
Also I think all those cream pies made Ron the most animated he's ever been in a music video ever (unless you count that time he was literally animated).

What you on about, that IS the video!
