Blurr Hogs
Spazztic Blurr Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

This is the next century
Where the universals free
You can find it anywhere
Yes the future's been sold
Every night we're gone
And to Karaoke songs
How we like to sing along
Though the words are wrong

It really really really could happen
Yes it really really really could happen
When the days they seem to fall through you
Just let them go

No one here is alone
Satellites in every home
Yes the universals here
Here for everyone
Every paper that you read
Says tomorrow's your lucky day
Well here's your lucky day

It really really really could happen
Yes it really really really could happen
When the days they seem to fall through you
Just let them go

Well it really really really could happen
Yes it really really really could happen
When the days they seem to fall through you
Just let them go

Just let them go

Just let them go

Overall Meaning

The song "Blurr Hogs" by Spazztic Blurr is a commentary on the state of the world in the present time and the possibilities for the future. The opening lines, "This is the next century, where the universals free, you can find it anywhere, yes the future's been sold" suggest that although we live in a time of great technological advancement and potential, the future has already been predetermined by those in power, leaving little room for true freedom or progress. The following lines reference the desire to escape this reality through activities like karaoke, where one can momentarily forget their problems and sing along to songs even if the lyrics are wrong.

Yet, despite this bleak outlook, the song maintains a sense of hope that change is still possible. The repeated refrain of "it really really really could happen" is a call to action for listeners to believe in the possibility of a better future and not allow themselves to be weighed down by the struggles of the present. The lines "no one here is alone, satellites in every home, yes the universals here, here for everyone" suggest that despite the vastness and complexity of the world, we are all united in our experiences and that technology has the potential to bring us closer together.

Overall, "Blurr Hogs" is a song that acknowledges the challenges of our time while still holding onto the possibility for a brighter future.

Just want to say that we played this album like 40 times a day in 1988 or 1989. Damn, how i loved this... I can dream every sound of it and still love it all over. Wehrmacht played the Netherlands too those days and we were very happy that they did the ABC song live back then. I wished for Spazztic Blurr merchandise; never had it, but my cap said SPAZZTIC instead of SUICIDAL like most hardcorepeople back then. cheers from the Netherlands..
