Beginning of the End
Spinesank Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The irritation we're pretending not to show
Has replaced the motivation that I had not long ago

I know that
I, I don't ever wanna be the one to make you forget it
I, I don't ever wanna be the one to make you resent it
I, I don't ever wanna be the one to make you repress it
I, I don't ever wanna be, ever wanna be, ever wanna be

It's the beginning of the end and I
Don't know where we lost control
It's the beginning of the end and I
Know that I am all alone

Interrogation has replaced the trust we had
Your misguided accusations helping me to turn my back

I know that
I, I don't ever wanna be the one to make you divide it
I, I don't ever wanna be the one to make you deny it
I, I don't ever wanna be the one to make you deprive it
I, I don't ever wanna be never wanna be never wanna be

It's the beginning of the end and I
Don't know where we lost control
It's the beginning of the end and I
Know that I am all alone

I thought that we would find our way
I thought our life would be okay
I thought that you believed in me
But now it seems so far away

The life we knew before is gone
There is no compromising
The life you save will be your own
To find your inner senses
To find your inner senses
To find your inner senses

It's the beginning of the end and I
Don't know where we lost control
It's the beginning of the end and I
Know that I am all alone

It's the beginning of the end and I
Don't know where we lost control

It's the beginning of the end and I
Know that I am all alone

Overall Meaning

In “Beginning of the End”, Spineshank expresses the frustration and desperation of a relationship that is falling apart. The lyrics convey a feeling of loss, regret and a realization that it may be too late to save what was once a promising future. The opening lines, “The irritation we're pretending not to show, has replaced the motivation that I had not long ago” highlights the sense of disillusionment that has replaced what once was a strong bond between the two individuals. The persona of the song desires to remember and cherish the love they once had, while understanding that he is the blockage to it -- “I don't ever wanna be the one to make you forget it/I don't ever wanna be the one to make you resent it”.

The chorus, “It's the beginning of the end and I/Don't know where we lost control/Know that I am all alone” repeats itself, emphasizing the theme of the song that it’s the end without both parties aware of how it made it happen. The persona also recognizes that they are alone, whether physically or emotionally. The trust that once existed between them has been replaced with arguments and accusations -- “Your misguided accusations helping me to turn my back”-- leading to the lack of communication which is the main reason for the anguish of the persona -- “I thought that you believed in me/But now it seems so far away”. The call to action in the middle section, “The life we knew before is gone/There is no compromising/The life you save will be your own/To find your inner senses” portrays a plea for a new beginning, a shared responsibility that will lead to finding an understanding in the relationship.

I disagree. This band was formed during the nu-metal explosion, so they are previous to emo. I think when somebody covers a song is not like "I don't like the original version". Is something like "I love this song, and I'll refresh it in my style just to see what happens". I love the beatles, and I love this verion too. Evolve or die :). Bye the way, I consider Spineshank a industrial metal band.

Allenzo04
