They rehearsed in Stefan's garage and performed Metallica, ZAO and Focal Point covers, then original music in local clubs. '"The musical connection that we have is amazing; everything is really positive,"' says bassist Ben Souza, added in 1999 when the band moved to Chico, California.
In March 2001, the band crossed the country on the All Under Heaven Tour with Shun, then in July played 18 shows in 22 days on the Are We There Yet Tour, including Emerson Theatre in Indianapolis, Emerald Theatre near Detroit, Pyramid Club in New York City, 5 Points South in Birmingham, Masquerade in Atlanta, Bash on Ash in Tempe and Chain Reaction in Anaheim with, in part: Haste, [minus], Not Waving But Drowning and ZAO.
Spiritfall's musical style development is probably best described as metal and hardcore roots, evolving as the band was influenced by the music of Far and Deftones into their own sound, variously described by others as hard rock, pop, alternative metal, and emo.
Spiritfall combines melody and harmonies with aggressive instrumentals, but emotion is the foundation of Spiritfall's music. '"Our goal is to completely "expose" ourselves emotionally and musically,'" admits vocalist Anthony Stone, while guitarist Christian Spencer reveals, '"There really are no boundaries in music, and that is what makes it so powerful."'
"Intoxicatingly beautiful and yet completely intense friendly yet emotionally drenched blend of emocore and new metal" - wookubus, Pimp Rock Palace (theprp.com)
Spiritfall completed a 10-song CD in December 1999, but their music was developing so rapidly with their ambitious performance schedule that they decided to release an initial 6-song concept CD in 2000, "My Reason," which first release sold out at spiritfallband.com and on tour.
Unfortunately, they are disbanded in 2001 after a fight with the band members and the record dealer and quit the band.
Spiritfall has played with: Papa Roach, Taproot, Alien Ant Farm, Pressure 4-5, dredg, Onelinedrawing, The Revolution Smile, Fenix TX, 8 Stop 7, Zebrahead, The Juliana Theory, Ethynol, Trans-Lux, Paradox 44, Darkest Hour, The Systematics, Insolence, ZAO, Spike 1000 and Will Haven!
Already There
Spiritfall Lyrics

But only I can take these memories
??
Only peace of mind has driven me
Another passing season
Another mountain in my life
As all that's left has fade out
There are feelings left to feel
But only some are worth my time all day
I'd rather sit right by side
And blow like ashes in the wind
Another passing season
Another mountain in my life
As all that's left has fade out
Nothing in me that defines me
In my mind, I'm already there
It's a sign, to stay awake
It defines, who I can be
Another passing season
Another mountain in my life
As all that's left has fade out
Nothing in me that defines me
The lyrics of Spiritfall's song Already There are introspective and deeply contemplative. They seem to be reflecting on the path of life that the singer has been on and the impact that it has had on him. The first stanza talks about feeling turned inside out but also taking ownership of the memories that were created in the process. The singer seems to be talking about the fact that he has experienced many difficult situations and has had to confront his own emotions head-on. He also says that only peace of mind has driven him, which could be interpreted as the fact that he has prioritized his mental and emotional well-being above all else.
The next stanza talks about the passing of time and how it seems to bring new challenges and obstacles. The imagery of a mountain is used to represent these difficulties, while what is left of the singer's being fades away. This could be interpreted as a reference to the fact that the challenges of life can wear us down and make us feel like we are losing a part of ourselves. However, there are still feelings left to feel, but the singer seems to suggest that he will only devote his time to those that are truly worth it.
In the final stanza, the singer says that he is already there in his mind, and that staying awake is a sign of his consciousness. This could mean that he is already aware of who he is, what he wants to accomplish, or his own personal values. It defines who he can be and what he can achieve. Ultimately, the song seems to be about finding peace and purpose in life, even when facing hardships.
