On September 10th 2007 the band announced on their Myspace that following a 25-date tour in November/December they will be 'calling it quits'. No official reason was given although they stated that 'this was absolutely nothing to do with a lack of passion for making music together or love for each other'. During the tour they will be selling a limited-edition album consisting of all their out-of print pre- Victory records back catalogue as well as selected demos from 1998-2002 through Sinister Label/Walk In Cold Records. This will only be made available at their final shows and through selected online stores. Mark Rose currently plays music as a solo artist. TJ & JD can be found playing locally around chicago & the surroding suburbs in their new band Thrillage
Gold Dust Vs. State Of Illinois
Spitalfield Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Made yourself up your very best;
I know you're trying to be
Anyone's everything.
I know you're dying to be
Broken and let down by me.
With those eyes that you throw me.
I can't break if I don't bend.
And she's not coming around again.
You know you've gotta leave.
Get up, get up, get out.
And don't be seen.
Find yourself on your way there.
Fallin', fall out.
And then jump in again.
I'm not running, I'm just walking faster.
Don't let this keep you down.
Why do that to yourself?
What could you be after?
The lyrics of Spitalfield's song "Gold Dust Vs. State Of Illinois" tell the story of a woman who is trying to be everything to everyone, particularly the singer. She has dressed up and put on her best face, but the singer knows that she is only doing this to win his approval. He also knows that she secretly wants to be hurt and let down by him, perhaps to confirm her own negative self-image.
The chorus urges the woman to leave and move on, to not be weighed down by her own insecurities and to find a new path for herself. The singer is not running away from her, but he is also not going to be dragged down by her negativity and self-destructive tendencies.
Overall, the lyrics speak to the ways in which we often try to mold ourselves to fit someone else's ideal, and how that can ultimately lead to disappointment and heartbreak. It is a cautionary tale about not losing oneself in someone else's idea of who we should be.

I think that one single victory cd influenced a lot of people in that time period, around 2008 if I remember.
KMNDRS
Discovered this band from a Victory DVD that came with Hawthorne Heights "if only you were lonely".
I remember the exact moment i fell in love with them. It was the riff at 3:02 then the transfer to the bass. I was maybe 15 and thought "this is the greatest riff section i've ever heard". I still believe it to be true over 10 years later. 🤘🏻 wish i would've had the chance to see you live Spitalfield.🙏🏻
Midnight Train

KMNDRS ever since I was 15, Spitalfield has always had my favorite bass tones and riffs.
