Do Do Do
Spleen and friends Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I got a girl who lives far away
She holds me like a sunny day
When I'm grasping for a feeling
Oh lord well she brings me easy around to reason
And I'll wait months to see the light
It's a tunnel and I'm almost through
But I know she knows what I need to be strong and bold and true
Baby I ain't always smart
I know what I got in you
And if you don't know I love you by now
I do
I do
I do
I got a girl who don't want my name
And I know that may never change
But when I'm not home till early morning
Oh lord she brings me into bed without warning
And I'll wait months to see the light
It's a tunnel and I'm almost through
But I know she knows what I need to be strong and bold and true
Baby I ain't always smart
I know what I got in you
And if you don't know I love you by now
I do
I do
I do
I'll wait months to see the light
It's a tunnel and I'm almost through
But I know she knows what I need to be strong and bold and true
Baby I ain't always smart
I know what I got in you
And if you don't know I love you by now
I do
I do
I do
I do
I do
Oh if you don't know I love you now momma
I do

I do
I do

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Spleen and friends' song "do do do" seemingly tell a story about a distant relationship. The singer expresses his love for a girl who lives far away and whom he may not be with officially as she "don't want [his] name." Despite the distance between them, the girl brings him peace of mind and a sense of clarification in trying times. He describes waiting for months to see the light at the end of the tunnel, suggesting that the couple may be trying to make the relationship work despite being separated.

The lyrics also highlight the singer's acknowledgement of his own shortcomings and the value of the girl in his life. He admits to not always being smart but acknowledges that he has what he needs in her. The repetition of "I do" throughout the song serves as a reaffirmation of the singer's deep, unwavering love for the girl, emphasizing their commitment to each other despite the challenges they may face.

Overall, "do do do" can be interpreted as an ode to the power of love and the unwavering nature of a strong relationship, even in the face of distance and uncertainty.

TL;DR Part of a still-mysterious protective/immune system, like we are learning about the gut.

In the late 70s, I had an Anatomy professor who said he figured that if we still had it, it probably did something useful. He had analyzed it's physiology & concluded that it seemed to be part of an early-warning/immune protection system, along with adenoids, which were also generally thought to be unneeded.

Years later I read he had the right idea, although conventional medicine was/is still teaching that you don't need half your organs. Examples: I had every ER doc & surgeon in a top hospital telling me my gallbladder should come out...the very first time I had a stone! (Which apparently was able to finally pass on it's own just before they went in to pull it out of my bile duct.)

Dozens of doctors of every kind, even "experts" have told many women I know that removing their entire uterus (for benign fibroids) via major abdominal surgery is "no big deal" and they "don't need it, so why not"! And they usually plan to take the perfectly healthy ovaries as well then, too.

(Focused ultrasound can non-invasively and very precisely "cook" breast, uterine, testicular, and other tumors. It has been known about and was being developed since early '90s or earlier. I wonder if they have gotten around to teaching it instead of cutting? It was still unknown to practising specialists years after it had gotten FDA approved.)

Bottom Line: If it isn't life-threatening, leave it in and figure out another treatment. It's probably better to leave the patient with everything they were born with, even if it doesn't seem "important".

@best fly in India they literally teach you the first things about spleen in anatomy is that it bleeds like shit and filters dead and damaged RBCs out of the bloodstream.

The spleen is one of the last things you study with hematology. Thats why during the first five years you are not sure what it does. XD
