The band, from Burlington, Ontario, consisted of Gordon Deppe (vocals and guitar), Sandy Horne (vocals and bass), Rob Preuss (keyboards and piano) and Derrick Ross (drums). Preuss also replaced Brett Wickens in 1980.
In the late eighties, Preuss went on to play with Honeymoon Suite and Ross left the band and were replaced by Scott MacDonald and Steve Kendry.
The band released five albums (and a soundtrack that was credited to Gordon Deppe but included a couple songs from the "Tell No Lies" ep).
Their most popular songs included " Romantic Traffic", "Nova Heart", "Old Emotions" and "Tell No Lies".
Gordon Deppe is currently a music programmer for one of the Galaxie Music Network (television) channels in Canada.

I saw a slightly later incarnation of the Spoons (different drummer) and they were great! I'm a player (for many years) and was really knocked out (and surprised!) at how well the band played, how good the songs were, and, yes, how great Sandy handled things. True, this is real 80s stuff, but if this band were out of London, England, it would have been global and classic.

Yeah I was a little too young for this too. :) But it doesn't stop me from dreaming of seeing them now that I'm older. :) I don't think my mom would have viewed taking an 8 year old kid to a bar or a night club would have been appropriate for her daughter at the time. :)
