Meanwhile, on the northern side of Finland, a girl called Terhi Koivisto was awaken to the existence of music while listening to her mum play and sing tender songs to her in the long winter nights. Singing by the bonfire on summer camps in small Kokkola-town encouraged and inspired her to start developing her self-expression as a singer. By the age of 18 she had been involved as a lead vocalist in different local live-bands ranging musically from funk to ethnic, but then decided to move to Helsinki because of studies in cinematography. After some years, she met up with Juha through a mutual musical friend and Spyritual was given a human voice.
Together Juha & Terhi found a mutual passion for a certain kinds of sounds and started to compose and write music with no special genres or definitions in mind. The musical platform was at first quite free and somewhat based in drum&bass. Now, after years of developing, the music of Spyritual can be described as deep electro-acoustic nu-jazz.
If you know what to look for, in the music of Spyritual there is a sence of origin present. That origin is Finland. With it's strong, beautiful and contrasting nature, it's hard not to let the surroundings affect your emotions. It's also a common legend that finnish people don't talk much, but mostly keep to themselves. When this is the case, other forms of communication can, and are sometimes forced to take place.

It came down with the rain
It came down on a boy’s cheek
And the boy was dear to me
The boy was too hard on me
He used to play with my love
But all that I could see
Was that the boy was dear to me
Chorus:
And the boy was
And the boy was
Then came the day of the rainy weather
And the boy’s tease went too far
I fell into this river
And got up
Nevermore
Chrous
I found my sapphire from the river
It came down with the rain
It came down on a boy’s cheek
And that’s all there’s gotta be
And the boy was
And that’s all there’s gotta be
And that’s all there’s gotta be
The song 'Sapphire' by Spyritual is a poignant tale of love, loss, and redemption. The first verse talks about finding a sapphire in the river, which came down with the rain and landed on a boy's cheek. The boy was dear to the singer, but he was not kind to her, and used to play around with her love. However, the singer was blinded by his affection and could only see the boy's endearing qualities. The chorus repeats the phrase 'And the boy was' which hints at the singer's emotional attachment to the boy, even though he was not good for her.
The second verse changes the tone of the song as the weather turns rainy and the boy's teasing goes too far, causing the singer to fall into the river. The use of the word 'tease' suggests that the boy may have been playing around with the singer's emotions or possibly leading her on. However, the singer takes this incident as a sign and gets up, never to return to this relationship again. The song ends with the repetition of the last line of the first verse, 'And that's all there's gotta be', which implies that the singer has moved on and accepts that this relationship was not meant to be.
Overall, 'Sapphire' can be interpreted as a metaphor for the idea of finding something precious in unexpected places, but also realizing that sometimes, things are not meant to be.
