Kevin's Song
Squad Five-O Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics of Squad Five-O's Kevin's Song are a tribute to a loved one who has passed away. In the first verse, the singer remembers when Kevin said goodbye and left this world, but he also remembers the belief Kevin held that to live is for Christ and to die is to gain. Despite the pain of losing Kevin, the singer is comforted by the knowledge that Kevin wasn't alone, and he gave his all in his journey home. When the singer first heard about Kevin's death, he experienced a mix of emotions that could only be described as "painful joy." As time passed and seasons changed, the memories of Kevin remained, and the singer still saw the impact Kevin had on the lives of those he touched. The final line of the song emphasizes that Kevin's life and death were lived for Christ.
The song tells a story of loss, grief, and the hope that is found in faith. The singer acknowledges that Kevin may be gone, but his legacy lives on through the lives he affected. The lyrics bring comfort to those who have experienced loss and remind them that even though their loved ones are no longer with them, they have lived on in memories and touched the lives of others.
