With their 1973 debut album Troia they became an overnight sensation, improvising surreal stories over carefully-arranged orchestral pieces. The formula was repeated on their subsequent 13 albums (the most recent of which appeared in 1994), with an increasing amount of profanity in the lyrics and references to famous songs in the music. The lyrics of Squallorβs βRaccontala giusta Alfredoβ narrate the singerβs amorous adventures and antics. It starts with the singer kissing the usual woman he kisses every Thursday, but he encounters a new woman who is more beautiful than the one he usually meets. He abandons the first woman for the second but before he can catch his breath, a third woman appears and forcefully tries to love him. The chorus then appears, where the singer asks Alfredo to tell the truth: If youβre talking about wine, I believe you. Love is like a lilac flower, and whoever has it wonβt give it to you. The women are beautiful, but they are chimeras for you.
In the second verse, the singer is kissing the apartment buildingβs porter, who updates him on the women he is after. He then sees the Contessina of CaccarΓ passing by and abandons the porter to chase after the noblewoman. However, before he can breathe, he sees the Baron with his glove, challenging him to a duel. The final verse describes the singer updating his list of women he has encountered, only to realize that he has forgotten several names. The chorus is repeated once more.
