"Mysterious maritime piratical band of apocalyptic marauders" holy shit that writing is FIRE

Some of the Sea Peoples (as far as the Rameses record goes, only two out of twelve) are actually identified, but notably only some of them. Those, in turn, seem to have come from fairly far away (I recall that one group was from the north coast of modern Turkey).

@markberryhill2715

And I thought I could get crazy with the writing! Dang!

Another reason some scholars think the Philistines may be Aegean in origin is because of their tradition of settling battles by pitting opposing champions against each other in a duel. Goliath challenging Israel's army to single combat is pretty similar to the one-on-one duels in the Iliad.

@rohayeha

The Philistine the correct name as per the Biblical Hebrew being Felesheteyem are Ethiopians who migrated to Israel and got mixed with Eroupean https://youtu.be/1iCV2c9l7zw

@TheAlmightyAss

This is compelling but maybe that was common ancient practice?

@lookoutforchris

@Eskedar View how could they migrate to Israel if they were there before Israel existed? Your comments are crap.
