Unique in that that they solely cover music from the original NES console, they differ also from their video game cover band counterparts by incorporating original songs, as inspired by these very NES games.
Initially a studio effort, Stage 3-1 has assembled a live band due to popular request. Live performances are planned for the summer of 2007.
Joining original members Weston Sagle and Kevin Beswick was Steven Sagle, a video game enthusiast and NES connoisseur. To achieve the full NES metal sound, Brian Mikkila and Julian Ursano were incorporated to round out the live band.
The full-length album LEVEL UP!, featuring reinvented old favourites and originals, will be released sometime in late 2007. The album is currently in progress.

Wish I had a picture to put on my dashboard
Don't know why you ran away
What were my last words?
It's been ten years now, man what a sad story
You got off the leash and then ran
Went around the block, I don't know where you went
Hoping someone nice just picked you up
Now the floors are all clean
Really life isn't fair
Red like the roses, but you were blue
Now I've been inside of those very shoes
Laying around with nothing to do
Pretty sure I'll end the same
Lost you and then got anemia, you were my blood
Wonder if you can see me I know that you're resting in a good place
It'd be a blessing if you're okay
But I know you're gone
I made you my password
Wish I had a picture to put on my dashboard
Don't know why you ran away
What were my last words?
You got off the leash and then ran
Went around the block, I don't know where you went
Hoping someone nice just picked you up
Used to vacuum up your hair
Now the floors are all clean
Really life isn't fair
Red like the roses, but you were blue
Now I've been inside of those very shoes
Laying around with nothing to do
Pretty sure I'll end the same
Lost you and then got anemia, you were my blood
Wonder if you can see me I know that you're resting in a good place
It'd be a blessing if you're okay
But I know you're gone
I made you my password
Wish I had a picture to put on my dashboard
Don't know why you ran away
What were my last words?
You got off the leash and then ran
Went around the block, I don't know where you went
Hoping someone nice just picked you up
Used to vacuum up your hair
Now the floors are all clean
Really life isn't fair
Red like the roses, but you were blue
Now I've been inside of those very shoes
Laying around with nothing to do
Pretty sure I'll end the same
Lost you and then got anemia, you were my blood
Wonder if you can see me I know that you're resting in a good place
It'd be a blessing if you're okay
But I know you're gone
The lyrics of Stage 3-1's song "Mega Man II" tell a heartfelt story of loss and longing for a beloved pet. The singer reminisces about their dog who ran away ten years ago. They express regret for not knowing their pet's last words before they disappeared. The lyrics convey a sense of sadness and longing to be reunited with their furry friend.
The line "Used to vacuum up your hair, Now the floors are all clean" suggests that the absence of the dog has created a void in the singer's life. They reflect on how life isn't fair and compare the dog's vibrant personality (represented by the color blue) with their current state of melancholy.
The lyrics continue to express the singer's sense of emptiness and aimlessness. They mention having nothing to do and a feeling of ending up the same way. The line "Lost you and then got anemia, you were my blood" could be interpreted metaphorically as losing both the dog and a vital part of themselves, leading to a physical ailment like anemia.
Despite the loss, there is a glimmer of hope as the singer wonders if their pet can see them and if they are resting in a good place. They find solace in the possibility that their pet is okay, although they acknowledge that the pet is gone.
Overall, the lyrics of "Mega Man II" reflect the deep emotional connection between humans and their pets and the lingering feelings of loss and longing that can persist long after a pet's absence.
