Stake Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
There's something going down my friend.
Have you seen we've lost emotion.
It's coming to an end my friend.
It's coming to an end my again.
Have you seen this devolutionIt's only going down again.
Have you seen this fucked up nation.
IT'S COMING TO AN END MY FRIEND
It's coming to an end again
It's coming to an end my friend.
It's coming to an end
The lyrics of Stake's song Devolution speak about the current state of societal and emotional degradation that is plaguing the world. The song speaks of the loss of emotions and the gradual decline of the world into a state of devolution, which is defined as the regressing of society to a less advanced state. The lyrics are a call to attention to the world and the state it is currently in, with the deterioration of the emotional and psychological wellbeing of the people.
The chorus repeats the phrase 'It's coming to an end my friend' which could mean the end of the world as we know it or the end of a certain way of living. The song highlights the disconnect between people and their emotions, something that is increasingly becoming relevant in today's fast-paced world. The lyrics also allude to a 'fucked up nation' which could be interpreted as the world as a whole or a specific country. The song is a warning to take action to heal and change the current state of the world.
