Rise & Fall
Stars Hide Fire Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Adorned with my ancestral rights
Founded on fear...

Maintained by might
The truth I search for
Is not found in all but lies

Loud speakers call out and remind
Keep posture straight
Keep minds in line and don't dare step out

These mainstream conforming ways
That my color can't seem to fit
Well into, I'm exposed

And maybe we can make this happen
Maybe we can set this right
I'm sorry for exposing you

All your walls and imperfection
All your fears and all of the flaws you hold inside
That you try so hard to hide from me

Adorned in gold
Maintained by might...
Now

As I am disavowed
I've disavowed these thoughts that keep me down
Don't dare stand up

And maybe we can make this happen
Maybe we can set this right
I'm sorry for exposing you

All your walls and imperfection
All your fears and all of the flaws you hold inside
That you try so hard to hide from me

This is my last attempt...
I lash...out!

This is my last dying plea to you
These misconceptions keep my hands nailed to the cross
Relics, pieces, the images are false
My cynic explanations are breaking down your walls

This is my last challenge, I fall...
As I search for truth
I search for you

In my search for the truth

I've found nothing, but
Broken pieces of you...

Overall Meaning

The song "Rise & Fall" by Stars Hide Fire conveys the struggle of an individual who is standing up against the mainstream society that is founded on fear and maintained by might. The lyrics seem to imply that the individual is trying to find the truth that is hidden behind the lies that are being fed to them by the society. The song suggests that the society expects people to abide by its norms and not to step out of line, which makes it difficult for the individual to fit in because of their color or other features that don't conform to the society's standards. The individual is portrayed as an outsider who exposes the society's walls, imperfections, fears, and flaws that it tries hard to hide from others.

The chorus of the song provides a ray of hope in the midst of the struggle. The individual believes that maybe they can set things right and make the society acknowledge their flaws and imperfections. However, the struggle takes a toll on the individual, and they feel disavowed and disheartened. The song ends with the individual making a last attempt to find the truth while acknowledging that they have found nothing but broken pieces of the society.

Overall, the song conveys a powerful message about individuality, struggle, and the search for truth. The lyrics suggest that it's important to stand up for oneself and challenge the status quo even though it may result in being disavowed and isolated.

I don't know why The Pussycatdolls are even called a 'band' nobody sings except for Nicole. They should be called Nicole and the Pussycatdolls, or Nicole can just be a solo artist and use them as her backup dancers. Everybody in D.K has their verse, which I like, unlike PCD.

Love dk i always wondered why diddy&aubrey never got along

PLLittleMama2007

See this is what I don't get. Diddy said that Aubrey changed from who she use to be. Yet Aubrey has always stood up for what she believed in, she was always a little to sexy, her appearance change all of the time since the beginning and she was always more popular than the other guys; and Diddy loved that about her. So how did Aubrey change so much that Diddy had to fire her and end the group? Diddy just seemed jealous of her fame. He knew she could be a big star without him so he ruined her.

The problem is Nicole flopped as a solo.
