In the early hours of New Years Day 2013, a radio astronomer at the Allen Telescope Array in northern California discovered a mysterious signal emanating from a star within the Ophiuchus Constellation.
Contained within the signal was a Message--of human origin--foretelling the details of man's imminent demise. The Message was brought to The Starset Society, who quickly realized the importance of its immediate publication.
Risking extreme danger, The Starset Society commissioned a group of musicians and scientists to assist them in spreading the knowledge to a broader audience. This group became known simply as STARSET.
Please hold. STARSET will begin the TRANSMISSION of the Message to the public shortly.

That I can see through the flames
I am hypnotized as I fantasize
Forgetting lies and pain
But I can't go back
The ashes call my name
Breaking the habit and melting the chains
Embracing the fear, chasing the fight
The glow of the fire will light up the night
The bridges are burning, the heat's on my face
Making the past an unreachable place
Pouring the fuel, fanning the flames
I know, this is the point of no return
It's uncontrollable
Such a beautiful desire
There's something sinister about the way it hurts
When I watch it burn
Because I can't go back
The ashes call my name
Pouring the fuel, fanning the flames
Breaking the habit and melting the chains
Embracing the fear, chasing the fight
The glow of the fire will light up the night
The bridges are burning, the heat's on my face
Making the past an unreachable place
Pouring the fuel, fanning the flames
I know, this is the point of no return
I won't turn around
These lyrics to Starset's song Point of No Return explore the complex emotions that come with letting go of the past and moving forward. The singer reminisces about the way things used to be, but acknowledges that those memories are now tainted by lies and pain. The metaphor of flames is used throughout the song to represent the heat of passion, both positive and negative. The singer is hypnotised by their fantasies, but is also acutely aware that they have reached a point where they can never return to the way things were before.
The chorus emphasises the finality of this decision. The singer is pouring fuel on the fire, fanning the flames and breaking free of old habits and chains. They acknowledge that this is a scary and daunting undertaking, but ultimately embrace it as an opportunity to grow and change. The metaphor of burning bridges is used to signify that the past is truly unreachable, and that they are now committed to moving forward, even if it means embracing the fear and the fight along the way.
Overall, the lyrics to Point of No Return are a powerful commentary on the complexities of human emotion and the way we deal with change. It explores themes of desire, fear, and the past, and encourages the listener to embrace change and move forward, even in the face of adversity.

@bl00by_
I just realised that the lyrics fit really well to the story of gwyn from dark souls.
"There's a memory of how we used to be" is refering to the age of the flame and how powerful the gods were.
The first part and the second part of the song is all about the fellings gwyn has while he sacrifices himself to the first flame.
"The ashes call my name" Gwyn thinks that it's his destiny to rekindel the first flame.
"Pouring the fuel, fanning the flames" He fuels the first flame with his own body so the age of fire won't die.
"Breaking the habit and melting the chains" He will break the circle of the ages (age of the ancients, age of fire and the following age of dark) by repowering the first flame.
"Embracing the fear, chasing the fight" He embraces the fear of losing agaist the dark and chooses to fight and defeat it.
"The glow of the fire will light up the night" Gwyn thinks that the age of dark will be "defeated" by the rekindeled fire.
"The bridges are burning, the heat’s on my face" The bridge of turning back fades away and his identity burns/melts away and he transforms to a mindless protector of the first flame.
"Making the past an unreachable place" means that nothing will be as before and there will be no turning back from this big change of the circle of ages.
"I know, this is the point of no return" He knows that there is no return from this.
"I won't turn around" Gwyn is determined to defeat the dark at all costs even if it would take his own life/soul.
