I'm here for loving so take it while I'm good enough
I just need your love
Seems I've waited longer than I've ever done
My mind is getting evil and my body's numb
Woman can I come?
Woman can I come to you?
Yes I need your love
I don't need you mama, I just need your love
I'm here for loving so take it while I'm good enough
I just need your love
Seems I've waited longer than I've ever done
My mind is getting evil and my body's numb
Woman can I come?
Woman can I come to you?
Cause I need your love
Yes I need your love
The lyrics of Status Quo's Umleitung express a desire for love and connection. The first lines, "I don't need you mama, I just need your love" suggest that the singer is looking for emotional connection rather than physical support. The repetition of "I just need your love" reinforces this idea. The following lines, "Seems I've waited longer than I've ever done/My mind is getting evil and my body's numb" imply a sense of loneliness and desperation, further emphasizing the need for love.
The chorus repeats the same lines from the beginning, reinforcing the theme of the song. The final lines, "Woman can I come to you?/Cause I need your love/Yes I need your love" clearly express the singer's desire to be with someone and to experience love and affection. The use of the word "woman" suggests that the singer is addressing a specific woman, perhaps one with whom he has a history or a connection.
Overall, the lyrics of Umleitung express a yearning for love and connection, while highlighting the loneliness and desperation that can come from a lack of it. Through the use of repetition and direct language, Status Quo creates a simple yet powerful expression of human emotion.

A superb track from one of their best albums. To me 1970 to the 1977 double live album was their best period.

This is a fantastic version of one of the great early Quo songs that got submerged by the popular stuff in the years to come. Status Quo were at their best from 1970 to about 1973, those 3 or 4 albums from Ma Kelly.
