Steel Audrey’s ability to tell a story through song is reminiscent of Kristofferson, Dylan and Springsteen. His blue-collar origins are evident in both narrative and delivery .."extra powerful and raspy... It’s not a pretty picture, but then, life never is.” (Greyowl Point)
Influenced by Hank Sr., Kristofferson and Townes, he can go from powerful and raucous in one moment to melodic and sorrowful the next. Singing embellished tales of seedy characters set to a gritty and energetic live performance; his blue-collar origins are evident in both his narrative and delivery.
Whether past or present, his stories give voice to the oppressed, the dark horse, and the downtrodden. Steel Audrey expresses a way of life now past; one which is rooted in the Canadian prairies, on a small-town farm where he grew up.
He released his debut self-titled EP (recorded with award-winning producer Matthew Rogers of Neighbourhood Productions) on July 3, 2012. and followed it up with three successful western Canadian tours. He is currently back in the studio, writing and recording his first full-length album which is set to be released in fall, 2013.

My father passed away July 10th, and I miss him so very much. I'm the baby of the family. I have leaned on my Dad for as long as I can remember. I have my brother to lean on now. I never knew how much we love each other until my father got sick.
A Man is Known By His...
Character-What he is
Conversation-What he says
Conduct-What he does
Contribution-What he gives
Befitting of two wonderful men, both
who I can always lean on.

This song makes me break down in tears. I remember when I was little, my big brother would always play this song on the car ride home from church. We would sing it together every night, and then he carried me upstairs to my bed when I fell asleep in the car. In 2018 he was diagnosed with cancer. I walked into his hospital room and he was singing it with a radio. I quickly joined in. That's when I heard a beep sound. His last words were "Call on me, brother." My favorite and saddest song in existence.
