He studied at the Conservatoire of Athens.Still studying, he received the 1st Prize at "Kaiti Papaioannou" Panhellenic Piano Competition.
He has studied with a scholarship by the French government, orchestration, conducting, composition and cinema music at Ecole Normale. While studying, he was awarded with the 1st Composition Prize at the International Modern Dance Festival Val de Marne. In 1991 he presented his composition "Thalassa" at the opening of the European Swimming Competition.
During '90s he appears in discography as a singer of his compositions and besides the albums and the concerts regarding the greek song, he collaborates with orchestras such as the Prague Radio Orchestra, the Sofia Radio Orchestra, the Amadeus Orchestra as a soloist and composer. He has participated in the greatest festivals of the world and he has recently performed at Athens Concert Hall, Thessaloniki Concert Hall, Odeon Herodus Atticus, at Prague Festival, Carre Theatre of Amsterdam, Dresden Classic Festival, Berlin etc. He has composed, for the account of the International Olympic Committee the Special Olympics anthem.

He also collaborates with the famous Portuguese artist Dulce Pontes touring around the world since 2003, being her permanent conductor, orchestrator and pianist. The most recent concerts took place at the Opera of La Corunia, at the Concertbaumin Netherlands, Centro Cultural de Belem in Lisbon, in Brazil. His new cd entitled “Anemptero” was released on March 2004 with the participation of many important singers, Giorgos Ntalaras, Dimitra Galani, Dulce Pontes, Alkistis Protopsalti. The multidimensional musical personality of composer and pianist Stefanos Korkolis has been constantly amazing with his intense creative presence in Greek and world music scene.
As a pianist, composer and also producer he has made a great number of important appearances in Greece and abroad. His recent collaboration with Alkistis Protopsalti resulted in three new songs in her new disk titled "Na se vlepo na gelas" (“To watch you laugh”), among them the Alkisti’s latest hit "O Aggelos mou" (“My Angel”). For this song Korkolis received the Arion award as the best composer of the year.

For the next months Stefanos Korkolis is planning some important appearances abroad. The first concert, 'Encontro' took place in Lisbon with Dulce Pontes and Horatio Ferrem Astor Piazzolla's poet. He is also planning to perform “Limania” (Ports) which will be also released in DVD in Athens, Thessaloniki, Cyprus and in many ports around the world. At the same time he is invited in various countries for classic concerts. He composes music for the television and the theatre. On November 2005, the musical “Don Quixote” was produced by the National Theatre of Greece, composed by Stefanos Korkolis.
In the meanwhile he continues his collaborations as a song composer with various artists in Greece and abroad.

Το κομμάτι είναι τέρμα ερωτικό με έντονα σεξιστικά υπονοούμενα !! Θεματικά λοιπόν η σκηνοθετική προσέγγιση έπρεπε όχι απλά να το υποστηρίζει αυτό το στοιχείο αλλά σκοπός του Video clip ήταν πιστεύω να ''σοκάρει'' αργά και μαεστρικά, με νοσηρά κίτρινες αποχρώσεις που διαχέονται σαν ιός και μουσικά Κορκολικά ξεσπάσματα . Το αιώνιο θέμα του σινεφιλ φτιαξίματος αποτελεί ακόμα και σήμερα ταμπου ...
