The lyrics to Steff La Cheffe's song Habibi tell the story of a woman who is enamored with a man she sees but does not have the courage to approach. The repetition of "Ougeblickä, Ougeblitzä, Ougeblinzlä, Stoub ir Linsä" emphasizes her fixation on his eyes, while also highlighting her own reluctance to make a move. The first verse describes how she lets him walk by without acknowledging him, even though she is in love with him. The chorus uses the Spanish and Arabic words "Cariño" and "Habibi" to express her desire for him to stay a little longer.
In the second verse, the woman is overwhelmed by her feelings and cannot understand why she is so affected by this person she barely knows. She compares herself to a fish caught in a net or a leaf blowing in the wind, helpless in the face of his allure. The third verse continues to describe her physical reactions to him, including a racing heart and a sense of being hypnotized. The chorus is repeated once again before the song ends with a verse about the man's impact on her happiness and sense of adventure.
Overall, the lyrics to Habibi are a mix of infatuation, insecurity, and longing. The repetition of certain phrases adds to the hypnotic quality of the song, while the blend of languages (German, Spanish, and Arabic) reflects the diverse cultural influences in Steff La Cheffe's music.

It isn't Swiss French, it's Swiss German, Bernese dialect.

luckely there is neither swiss french nor an african language in this song. The only language are 3 words of basic french and the rest is basic bernese...

It's not important how realistic it is. The more important question is: Is it new? Is it fun? Does it tear down borders and clichés in our minds? :-) Btw. some of the African looking people in the video are Swiss with African roots. Schwiizerdütsch is their mother tongue... And Swiss children learn at school songs in various languages like Swahili. People and especially children like to sing in any language, if the music has soul.
