Jo-Ann Greene writes about "Mind Control" AllMusic.com: "Stephen has continued to grow, adding new sounds and styles to his repertoire over the years. A conduit to the past and a bridge to the future, his music -- like his father's -- sounds timeless: reggae that embraces the world."
2004 he started the 27-city Bob Marley Roots, Rock, Reggae Festival tour with his four brothers and sons of Bob – Ziggy, Julian, Damian and Ky-Mani – each of whom have their own professional recording careers. The tour was the first time the brothers have officially performed together on stage.
Every February in Miami, Marley and his brothers perform at his family's annual Caribbean Festival in honour of their late father Bob Marley.

In Stephen Marley's The Mission, the lyrics speak of a message meant for the youth. The message aims to inspire youth to develop a plan and have ambition for their future while being firm in knowing where they stand in Armageddon. The lyrics encourage them to follow their traditions as evident from the line: "Him know him poopa set it so him follow tradition." The song also reveals that knowledge is the key and that it will set the people free, as demonstrated by Marcus Garvey's philosophy of reading. The ideology of African unity as proposed by Haile in philosophy is also highlighted. The lyrics warn against segregation and social impurity and encourage the young people to keep their thoughts pure. In conclusion, the song is a call to all the youths to keep their faith and determination strong and stay focused on their mission.
Stephen Marley’s song, The Mission, was released in 2011 on his album “Revelation Part 1: The Root of Life”. Here are ten interesting facts about the song:

Rap artists should focus on producing songs that will inspire and educate listeners instead of rapping about how much money, how many girls, and how many people they killed. By doing so, it only creates more youth especially black youth to lead a life of chaos, violence, and the rejection of education. This song acknowledges that all humans are equal regardless of race, country or religion. Good message, very important.
