I'm writin' the soundtrack for my wife/
I am composing a musical score that represents my wife's life and our love story.

it's mine to recite cause she's the love of my life/
I am the only one who can perform this soundtrack because my wife is the most important person in my life.

it's like the song of songs, The story is not merely an allegory of redemption/
My love story with my wife is not just a symbolic representation of spiritual redemption, it is a real-life experience.

but it's non-fiction//
This love story is based on true events that happened in our lives.

If my life is like a movie, this is the awaited continuation/
If my life were a movie, this would be the highly anticipated sequel that continues the story.

of KnA to take you to the present day situation/
I am continuing the story of my wife and I, taking you from the past to the present moment.

a love story changin' the pace and takin' it's place in/
Our love story is unique and is changing the pace of typical Hollywood love stories.

the center stage, for Christ's glory to be displayed in it//
We are representing Christ in our love story and showing the world what true, selfless love looks like.

but wait a minute and take it in as i lay a foundation/
Before I continue the love story, let me lay the foundation for how we met.

and start at the part where she really came in/
I will begin at the moment in my life where my wife came into the picture.

she snuck in the plot when i wasn't watchin'/ like Adam takin' a nap not knowin' what God's penned//
My wife entered my life unexpectedly, much like how Adam was created while he was sleeping.

Redeemed Thought is on stage rockin'/
I am performing this song with my band, Redeemed Thought, and we are bringing energy to the story.

First Friday's is the spot and she's takin' in the doctrine/
My wife attended a Bible study at First Friday's and was learning about Christian doctrine.

but that ain't when we started talkin'/
Despite being in the same place, my wife and I did not start talking yet.

i was asleep so to speak and don't remember seein' shorty wop then//
I did not notice my wife at that time because I was not aware of her presence.

we finally met formally at a bible study/
We officially met at a Bible study where we both attended.

she had a man at the time and i was feelin' somebody/
When we met, my wife was in a relationship while I was interested in someone else.

but the Lord's plans were better ours/
Despite our initial plans, God had his own perfect plan for us.

it was hard, but eventually both of our plans fell apart//
Even though it was difficult, our previous plans didn't work out, leading us to God's intended plan for our life together.

before all the obstacles were removed/
Even before all the difficulties were cleared up, God brought us together to work on a project.

He choose to pair us up to prepare a bunch of food/
God brought us together to prepare food for an event, bonding us in the process.

we at Epiphany are throwin' our first CCC/
We were preparing for Epiphany's first Christ Community Church event together.

and co-laborin' showed us our chemistry//
Our collaboration on this project showed us how well we worked together and strengthened our relationship.

the way that she would follow my lead/
My wife's willingness to follow my lead gave me confidence as a man.

gave me confidence as a man and that's what i needed/
Having my wife's support and trust helped me fulfill my role as a husband and leader of our household.

i started diggin' her and it was obvious/
I began to develop feelings for my wife, and it became apparent to both of us.

we'll talk about it later after a break from the plot//

Did i mention we made some mistakes along the way? from the gate/
I want to acknowledge that we made mistakes early on in our relationship.

i wasn't guardin' her heart and it caused her a lot of frustration/
I did not protect my wife's heart, which led to problems in our relationship.

though we didn't really know any better/
We were both unaware of how to properly care for each other's emotions.

and hadn't read anything about how a couple should come together//
We did not have any guidance or knowledge on how to build a healthy relationship together.

the ignorance doesn't erase the blame/
Our lack of knowledge does not excuse the mistakes we made.

i wasn't framed, my thoughtless actions caused some real pain/
I caused real pain for my wife with my careless actions.

the lasting effects rippled for years/
The effects of our early mistakes stayed with us for a long time.

since no commitment was communicated it led to fear/
Lack of clear, open communication in our relationship led to fear and anxiety.

and that eventually became anxiety/
My wife's fear and anxiety grew and became a serious issue for us.

she's havin' panic attacks, and i ain't know, but the problem's me/
My wife was suffering from panic attacks, which I did not realize at the time but were caused by our relationship problems.

meawhile I'm talkin' to Pastor E/
During this time, I sought guidance from my pastor and mentor, Pastor E.

and Tiffany about her bein' my wife potentially//
I sought the opinions of close friends and mentors about the possibility of marrying my wife.

They said that she needed a little time/
My friends and mentors advised me to give my wife some space and time to address her anxiety.

so i waited for the "OK" before makin' her mine/
I respected my wife's needs and waited until she was ready before pursuing a deeper relationship.

On Dec 12 of ‘06, i told Trish/
On December 12th, 2006, I shared my feelings with my wife for the first time.

the plot and the plan and we began our courtship//
After sharing my intentions, my wife and I began a formal, intentional relationship.

We started off well and ended strong/
Our relationship had a strong beginning and a successful ending.

but in the middle it got kinda physical, that's another song/
There were physical aspects of our relationship that are not included in this love story.

i took her Cali to meet the family/
I introduced my wife to my family in California.

so that they knew and approved of the new addition happily//
My family welcomed my wife and were happy with our new addition to the family.

then after about a week, I was down on a knee/
After a week of introducing my wife to my family, I proposed to her on bended knee.

towelin' her feet as I'm breakin' out a ring/
I proposed to my wife in a humble, servant-like manner, washing her feet and presenting the ring.

then 5 months later we're makin' vows/
Five months after proposing, we got married and exchanged vows.

a year and nine days after we started and now//
Our wedding took place one year and nine days after the start of our relationship.
