Claires voice really is Steps secret weapon. She can sing the shit out of any song. Her range & tone are both exceptional.

I'd say she is definitely not the "secret' weapon. She is basically the lead singer. Faye is probably the secret weapon, if there is one. She is doing the high notes that you hear on the final chorus.

@E N Oh, dear. I'm afraid you've misunderstood the nature of my comment, so allow me to help you out. I never claimed that Faye "carries" the songs. I merely corrected the semantics of your original comment that referred to Claire as the "secret weapon" of the group. She is the lead singer of the group, so there is nothing exactly "secret" about her excellent skills as a vocalist. As for the Beyonce comparison, that is also a false equivalence, since Beyonce has achieved record-breaking success as a solo artist since her departure from Destiny's Child, whereas Claire has failed to reach anywhere near the level of success as a solo artist that Steps have enjoyed. For these reasons, as well as Faye's lovely high notes at the end of the song, I feel that Faye might better fit the "secret weapon" description since she is less prominently featured in the group than Claire and is also a very good singer.

I've been a fan since their very first appearance. This is such an incredible song for so many reasons. Can't get it out of my head. The key-change towards the end is a stroke of genius. 25yrs on, they've still got "it". If anything, they are ever more polished.
Even my 11yr old son likes them and hums the chorus around the house!
