Knight has played the role of Chad Dylan Cooper in the Disney Channel Original Series, 'Sonny With a Chance' (2009-2011) and reprised his role in Disney sketch show 'So Random!' (2011-2012) . He appeared as fictional teen sensation popstar Christopher Wilde in the heartfelt Disney Channel Original Movie, 'Starstruck' (2010), alongside Danielle Campbell.

Knight played guest roles on 'Hannah Montana' (2006-2011) and 'Grey's Anatomy' (2005-). He featured in the film '17 Again' (2009) as Alex O'Donnell. He also appeared in season 3 of Melissa and Joey (2010-2015), and has more recently been in 'Landmine Goes Click' (2015), 'Different Flowers' (2017) and 'The Man from Earth: Holocene' (2017.)
