Originally, the group was known as the Stetson Brothers, but they changed their name to Stetsasonic for their debut, On Fire, due to their preference of Stetson hats. The album received mixed reviews, though the follow-ups, In Full Gear and Blood, Sweat & No Tears were critically acclaimed.
The group broke up soon after the release of Blood, Sweat & No Tears. Frukwan and Prince Paul worked with the Gravediggaz, while the latter also became a well-respected record producer, as did Daddy O, who worked for Mary J. Blige and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others.

(Delite) And she don't score
(Daddy-O) Or eat pork
(Both) With a spoon or fork
(Daddy-O) But I heard that
(Chorus)
(Some people don't like the way
(Ahem)
(Some people don't like the way
They way Sally walk)
(Ahem)
(1-2-3-4 Hit it!)
(Daddy-O)
This story's funny
I met this girl, and she had money
In vast abundance
Goo-goo gobs, I mean redundance
Her eyes were hazel
Her dress was suede, her voice was nasal
I found her so fly
But for the life of me, I didn't know why
(Chorus)
(Delite)
Now here's what took place
Recooed this jam, she rented the space
Nice place to party
But wouldn't you know, it turned out sorry
It's so confusin'
And sometimes I say it's amusin'
The jam was okay
'Til Sally walked in, 'cause just like I say
(Chorus)
Bridge:
(girl named Sally)

(girl named Sally)
(girl named Sally hit it)
(girl named Sally)
(girl named Sally)
(1-2-3-4 Hit it!)
(Daddy-O)
You know what? She don't live in Manhatten
Bronx, Queens, or the island of Staten
She's a Brooklyn swinga
So fly, every Friday night I might ring her
Telephone, yo D guess what (What?)
She's all alone (So?)
Stoned to the bone
Her shape's full grown
The kind of girl I'd love to own, ya see 'cause
(Chorus)
(Daddy-O)
I'm still with Sally
Paid and now we're both (feelin' Cali)
(Frukwan)
I think I love her
I know that I think highly of her
(Delite)
Believe it or not
I even thought
of tying the knot
(All Three)
She's opened my nose
And I ignore the story that goes:
(Chorus)

The song "Sally" by Stetsasonic is a fun and light-hearted track about a girl named Sally. The song is performed through a combination of rapping and singing, with Daddy-O and Delite taking turns on the mic. The song begins with Daddy-O introducing Sally as a girl who doesn't eat pork, and later goes on to describe her physical appearance, including her hazel eyes and suede dress. Despite finding Sally attractive, Daddy-O admits that he doesn't understand why he likes her. Delite then takes over the song, describing a party that Sally attended and how her presence ruined the vibe. The chorus, "Some people don't like the way Sally walk," is repeated throughout the song, although it is never fully explained why. The song ends with all three members of the group raving about Sally and how much they like her.
The lyrics to "Sally" are open to interpretation, but one possible explanation for the repeated line in the chorus could be that Sally's confidence and unique way of walking make her stand out from the crowd. The song could be about celebrating individuality and finding beauty in unexpected places. The upbeat, funky instrumental and catchy chorus make "Sally" a feel-good track that's sure to get you dancing.

Pure hip hop music at its finest. The dislikes are from people who don't like the way that Sally walks.
