After a friend mentioned to Steve that Andrew Lloyd Webber was looking for a performer to play the part of Jesus. Seizing the opportunity to showcase his 3½ octave range voice, Steve was determined to get the part. Despite his lack of West End experience, Steve won the role of Jesus from the thousands who auditioned - leading to that memorable headline about the origins of the Son of God! His performance was a revelation and his face was seen on bus shelters across the capital. On one television performance from the show he not only had Andrew Lloyd Webber weeping, but also managed to sell £160,000 worth of tickets to “Superstar” in half an hour!

Oddly enough, I am not of the "Balsamo's Jesus interpretation is the best ever" camp, but I agree with this sentiment. He's an amazing vocalist, better than any of the other pop people out there. Why he's not well known is beyond me.

That's a question we are all asking? This is just absolutely stunning! Steve's gorgeous voice and Rosalie's, sooo beautiful. Can't wait for them to start gigging! Hopefully when their album comes out. In the meantime, we at least have the single to this out on 29th on itunes to look forward to.

I absolutely fell in love with this song. Coincidentally, I was listening to 1973's Jesus Christ Superstar, and I saw the name of Steve Balsamo. I clicked to see if he had the voice to perform Gethsemane.....I was totally blown away!!!!! I started listening to other songs, and indeed, he has such a wonderful voice!!
