(2) Steve Lacy (July 23, 1934 – June 4, 2004), born Steven Norman Lackritz in New York City, was an American jazz saxophonist and composer recognized as one of the important players of soprano saxophone. Coming to prominence in the 1950s as a progressive dixieland musician, Lacy went on to a long and prolific career. He worked extensively in experimental jazz and to a lesser extent in free improvisation, but Lacy's music was typically melodic and tightly structured. Lacy also became a highly distinctive composer, with compositions often built out of little more than a single questioning phrase, repeated several times.
After Lacy was diagnosed with cancer in August 2003, he continued playing and teaching until weeks before his death on June 4, 2004 at the age of 69.

All over my body
Give some love
To me, my dove
Let me get inside of your car
Let me live inside of your car
Let me hide up under your car
I want a kiss
All over my face
And even my lips
I, I grab your hips
Let me get inside of your car
Let me live inside of your car
Let me hide up under your car
Let me live inside of your car
I've had enough
Tired of the meaningless, feelingless fucks
These days, in lust we trust
Let me get up out of your car
Let me live outside of your car
Let me ease on out of your car
Let me live outside of your car
At first glance, Steve Lacy's song In Lust We Trust seems to be about an intense desire for physical affection, with lines like "I want some touch/ All over my body" and "I want a kiss/ All over my face/ And even my lips." However, as the song progresses, it becomes clear that Lacy is grappling with a larger theme - the emptiness of hookup culture and the search for something more meaningful.
The repeated refrain of "Let me get inside of your car/ Let me live inside of your car/ Let me hide up under your car/ Let me live inside of your car" could be interpreted as a desire to escape the loneliness of modern life and find comfort in someone else's physical presence. But when Lacy later sings "I've had enough/ Tired of the meaningless, feelingless fucks/ These days, in lust we trust," it becomes clear that this search for physical intimacy is ultimately unsatisfying.
The final lines of the song - "Let me get up out of your car/ Let me live outside of your car/ Let me ease on out of your car/ Let me live outside of your car" - suggest a desire to find true love and a real connection, rather than just a fleeting physical encounter. Overall, Steve Lacy's In Lust We Trust tackles the complicated interplay between physical desire, emotional connection, and the search for something more meaningful.

Theres an underlying sinister aura in this song in its simplicity....... theres something haunting and dark about it but that's also light and airy and romantic all at the same time... I cant get enough

Sounds like your you're describing Thundercat's Music also lol
@danielcabrona8035
@swishahouse68 yes! Thundercat has the same vibes! Although I say thundercat leans into the absurd a bit more. Imagine this song with a thundercat bassline lil chef kiss
