I got straight chills when Norman turned into an unmerciful killing machine against the nazi’s and his character completely changed from the beginning of the movie. then a nazi probably the same age as him spared his life under the tank which sent a message to the viewer that a lot of these Nazi’s were forced into war and were no different than Norman

@Jd S Yes it is very overrated. The actors were the only thing that was good about the movie. The actors and the soundtrack.
The script did have an interesting premise, but that was the only good part of it.

The fight scenes went from Star Wars machine gun lasers, to a completely incomprehensible Tiger fight, to an almost tragicomic ending where the most elite specialized anti-tank battalion, couldn't destroy a single tank that couldn't even move, just because they were acting like a herd of stampeding sheep.

Pure propaganda on the level of Russian and Soviet war movies...

@Matthew Buchanan I doesn't subtract from the meaning at all. I'd say it gives it more depth. The line specifically is "what a man can do to another man" it doesn't necessarily imply bad things. Man has great capacity for good and evil. Even in war. I think this movie shows it very well with the ss soldier sparing Norman's life

The tank "Fury" lived up to it's name and the crew who operated it, and you can tell when the camera paned up from the tank, showing bullet holes, bullet casings, dead bodies, smoke...just sheer carnage. Alot of fury was shown in that scene just by looking at it. Norman should have just stayed with the tank, instead of being taken away.

The moment they gave Norman the name "Machine" and he rephrases "Best Job Ive ever had" is such a meaningful and strong scene. Through this subtle piece of dialouge this movie showed us the triumph to be fully accepted from his fellow soldiers but also the terrors of war when such a pure soul like norman starts to enjoy killing nazis, truly embracing it. Norman died in that tank...machine came home.

Just watched this the third time after watching it in 2014, I realized how underrated the art of this movie is.. A great masterpiece thats what it is the ending is heart breaking yet so dramatic and satisfying that at least one of them survived it doesn't make you fully satisfied but you just can't ask for a better ending.

After Norman was said" you're a hero" he starts looking at the tank, he knows very well he is not the hero, but the dead crew. This movie... is art...
The fighting scene in the beginning when trees falling, tracers everywhere and grenades bounces of the armor and start spinning and makes that whistle sound.
I havnt seen a more realistic battle scene ever.
You can feel their anxiety in the entire movie. Try to watch Shia LaBeoufs tearfilled eyes without feeling anything. Then your cold.
After seeing what happened to thier friends in the other tanks. Just knowing your lucky that gods dice didnt pick you this time.
If this doesnt get an Oscar, I dont know what....

Emma and Norman have the same melody. My favorite track from the movie and one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Love it! If your wondering about seeing the movie it was good, but sad near the end and graphic throughout. If you liked saving private Ryan I would recommend it.

Owen Eldridge it was an epic movie; when this song played at the end zooming out on the tank showing all the dead German soldiers around it, it just gave you shivers. You didn't know if you should feel amazed or sad. What this movie does well is appeal to the human side of every soldier. There was a lot of cruelty on both the American and German side of the conflict, and Normans unwillingness to give into it was astounding. In the end he sort of becomes convinced that the Germans really are all evil bastards, just to be let go by a young member of an SS battalion. Some other things the movie focuses on are the sense of mortality; everything you ever loved is one well placed artillery shell away from being taken from you; as well as the fact that the men at the bottom will die in conflict, many of their sacrifices forgotten, while those above will eventually shake hands and come to an agreement.

I think this'll be looked back on as classic war movie... The cast are superb and the music is stunning. For me the final piece "Norman" playing as the camera pans up and away from the crossroads, the symbolism of the lives sacrificed at the cross - perfectly brilliant. Its 10:40am on the 11/11/18... time to prepare for the 11th hour and remember.

This is my favourite war movie. Its so sad and well made. It makes me cry everytime I hear this song in the movie because it makes me think about how the war was and just.. all the people that really died during it. Anyone else who cried at the ending when you realize like Norman started off just being pissed and sad over being there, and then he slowly becomes one of them and then at the end, he is the only one who survives. Bro It's so sad to me cus I really felt like they were good friends and then all of them except Norman dies.

I mean despite the lines being spammed in the comment section, the soundtrack fitting to the emotions given in the end aswell as how well the actor played the role was such a masterpiece. The role itself shows the young soldier just realised what happend and was like "holy shit, I was actually doing this" with his eyes locked on that single spot.

That alone would prove the actor to win an award

Why do these quotes get so many likes? It's so stupid to me. We've seen the movie, no need to repeat the lines. Some people tell a real storie about the war and yet everybody likes the person writing down a quote. Weird.

Love this film and this masterpiece of music. So powerful, so sad, poignant, truthful and final in such a unspeakable way. It can only be felt as everything unfolds in such a somber scene. Epic.
