On January 19, 2011, Tyler made his debut appearance as a judge on American Idol, during the premiere of the show's tenth season, alongside Randy Jackson and superstar Jennifer Lopez.
On May 3, 2011, Tyler released his autobiography Does the Noise in My Head Bother You? The book was accompanied by the new single "(It) Feels So Good ", released May 10. The single reached #35 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Steven received an honorary degree from Berklee College of Music, and in 2005, received an honorary doctorate from the University of Massachusetts Boston.

It was the Summer of 2011, I was 15, my hair was longer, and this song debuted and instantly I downloaded it to my MP3 player and played it throughout the year over and over. The song just crossed my mind today. Sigh the good ole' days..
