Come on, baby don't you want to go
Come on, baby don't you want to go
To the same old place, sweet home chicago

Now, one and one is two, two and two is four
I'm heavy loaded baby, i'm booked, i gotta go
Cryin' baby, honey, don't you want to go
Back to the same old place, my sweet home chicago

Come on, baby don't you want to go
Com on, baby don't you want to go
To the same old place, sweet home chicago

Now two and two is four, six and two is eight
Come on baby, don't you make me late
I'm cryin' hey, baby, don't you want to go
To the same old place, sweet home chicago

Come on, baby don't you want to go
Com on, baby don't you want to go
To the same old place, sweet home chicago

Two and two is four, four and two is six,
Keep stayin out late at night you gonna get your business fixed.

Six and two is eight, eight and two is ten
She double crossed you one time
And she gonna do it again.

I'm goin to chicago, two thousand miles away,

Boy won't you tell me that you'll be my friend someday.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Sweet Home Chicago, a song originally composed by Robert Johnson, speak of a desire to return to the familiar and comfortable hometown of Chicago. The song begins with an invitation to a loved one, urging them to come along to Chicago. The singer then engages in a playful back-and-forth with his partner, using basic math to illustrate the urgency of the situation: he's heavy loaded and booked to go, he's crying because he wants to return to the city, and he doesn't want to be late. The chorus of the song repeats the invitation to return home, underscoring the importance of the city to these characters.

The final verse of Sweet Home Chicago introduces a new character: a woman who has double-crossed the singer before and is likely to do so again. This verse builds on the theme established earlier in the song of the value of returning to a place of safety and familiarity. By invoking the idea of a dangerous woman, the singer underscores the importance of the city as a place of refuge.

Except I believe Stevie Ray Vaughn wasn't at that live concert.
These were most of the guys that played with Stevie on his final tour, the night before his helicopter crashed into that mountain, killing him.
All the video footage of Stevie Ray?
Was taken from his appearance on Austin City Limits.
This was a tribute video, so it's obvious that Stevie Ray wasn't actually on that stage playing with all those blues legends.
If you notice?
He's never on the stage at the same time as everyone else, interacting with them.
He had tragically already died by this point.

You know you are truly great when Eric Clapton is playing rhythm guitar behind you.

My opinion is there is one guy there that Stevie learned most everything from...... Buddy Guy

@nitromartini1422

@@stevenseul361: You must be kidding. Buddy Guy is the most over rated loser in the music business. He STINKS.

That's when you know you have made it! Lol

Stevie was FLAWLESS!!! He was the baddest cat to ever pick up a guitar. I've never had a musician that brought me to tears when I heard their music. Stevie had a gift that was unmatched. I truly believe that he didn't realize just how good he was. It was as if he was plugged into another universe. Loosing him was the single greatest tragedy the music world ever experienced. To say he was a legend didn't even begin to tell the truth of his genius!!! Those around him in this video knew what they were witnessing. He was an Angel sent from heaven. God I miss him so much!!!!!
