Wonder's single "Fingertips" was a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963, at the age of 13, making him the youngest artist ever to top the chart. Wonder's critical success was at its peak in the 1970s. His "classic period" began in 1972 with the releases of Music of My Mind and Talking Book, the latter featuring "Superstition", which is one of the most distinctive and famous examples of the sound of the Hohner Clavinet keyboard. His works Innervisions (1973), Fulfillingness' First Finale (1974) and Songs in the Key of Life (1976) all won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, making him the tied-record holder for the most Album of the Year wins, with three. He is also the only artist to have won the award with three consecutive album releases. Wonder began his "commercial period" in the 1980s; he achieved his biggest hits and highest level of fame, had increased album sales, charity participation, high-profile collaborations (including Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson), political impact, and television appearances. Wonder has continued to remain active in music and political causes.
Wonder is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with sales of over 100 million records worldwide. He has won 25 Grammy Awards (the most by a solo artist) and one Academy Award (Best Original Song, for the 1984 film The Woman in Red). Wonder has been inducted into the Rhythm and Blues Music Hall of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame. He is also noted for his work as an activist for political causes, including his 1980 campaign to make Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday a federal holiday in the U.S. In 2009, he was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace, and in 2014, he was honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Wonder was born Stevland Hardaway Judkins in Saginaw, Michigan, on May 13, 1950, the third of five children born to Lula Mae Hardaway, and the second of Hardaway's two children with Calvin Judkins. He was born six weeks premature which, along with the oxygen-rich atmosphere in the hospital incubator, resulted in retinopathy of prematurity, a condition in which the growth of the eyes is aborted and causes the retinas to detach, so he became blind.

As if mankind's atrocities to man has no history
But just a glance at life in 2000 BC
We find traces of man's inhumanity to man
There's no mystery
All for one (for all, all for one)
One for all (for one, one for all)
Unless we heed the call (unless we head the call)
Me for you (it's me for, me for you)
You for me (it's you for, you for me)
There's no chance of world salvation
'Less the conversation's peace
We can't pause, watch and say, "No this can't be"
When there's a plan by any means to have cleansing of one's ethnicity
And we shouldn't act as if we don't hear nor see
Like in the holocaust of six million Jews
And a hundred and fifty million blacks during slavery
All for one (for all, all for one)
One for all (for one, one for all)
There's no way we'll reach our greatest heights
Unless we heed the call (unless we head the call)
Me for you (it's me for, me for you)
You for me (it's you for, you for me)
There's no chance of world salvation
Unless the conversation's peace (unless the conversation is peace)
When publicly or privately convened
May love, positivity and life's preservation be the basic theme
And should you put your trust in some prophet in life
Give him trust but your faith must stay with the one
Who gave the ultimate sacrifice for
All for one (for all, all for one)
One for all (for one, one for all)
There's no way we'll reach our greatest heights
Unless we heed the call (unless we head the call)
Me for you (it's me for, me for you)
You for me (it's you for, you for me)
There's no chance of world salvation
Unless the conversation's peace (unless the conversation is peace)
All for one (for all, all for one)
One for all (for one, one for all)
There's no way we'll reach our greatest heights
Unless we heed the call (unless we head the call)
Me for you (it's me for, me for you)
It's for you, if you for me (it's you for, you for me)
There's no chance of world salvation
Unless the conversation's peace (unless the conversation is peace)
And it's gotta be
All for one (for all, all for one)
All for one
And one for all (for one, one for all)
There's no way we'll reach our greatest heights

In Stevie Wonder's song "Conversation Peace," he highlights the importance of having peaceful conversations in order to achieve world peace. He begins by stating that we seem to have learned nothing from the atrocities of the past, and unless we acknowledge the history of inhumanity toward each other, we cannot move forward. He emphasizes the need for unity and mutual support, with the repeated refrain of "all for one, one for all." He also touches on the themes of ethnicity cleansing, the holocaust, the enslavement of blacks, and ultimately stresses the importance of peaceful conversation and finding common ground.
Throughout the song, Stevie Wonder urges us to be more aware and conscious of the world around us. The lyrics also remind us of the importance of love and that it should be at the forefront of any conversation. The song's message is that only through peaceful dialogue can we move towards a world where everyone is treated with respect and dignity, and where there is no discrimination based on ethnicity, religion or race.
This song was released in 1995 and was written by Stevie Wonder and his daughter, Aisha Morris. Stevie Wonder was inspired to write the song after hearing about the Oklahoma City bombing in April 1995, which killed 168 people. He believed that if people had been more open to peaceful conversation, such acts of violence could have been avoided.
