Wonder's single "Fingertips" was a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963, at the age of 13, making him the youngest artist ever to top the chart. Wonder's critical success was at its peak in the 1970s. His "classic period" began in 1972 with the releases of Music of My Mind and Talking Book, the latter featuring "Superstition", which is one of the most distinctive and famous examples of the sound of the Hohner Clavinet keyboard. His works Innervisions (1973), Fulfillingness' First Finale (1974) and Songs in the Key of Life (1976) all won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, making him the tied-record holder for the most Album of the Year wins, with three. He is also the only artist to have won the award with three consecutive album releases. Wonder began his "commercial period" in the 1980s; he achieved his biggest hits and highest level of fame, had increased album sales, charity participation, high-profile collaborations (including Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson), political impact, and television appearances. Wonder has continued to remain active in music and political causes.
Wonder is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with sales of over 100 million records worldwide. He has won 25 Grammy Awards (the most by a solo artist) and one Academy Award (Best Original Song, for the 1984 film The Woman in Red). Wonder has been inducted into the Rhythm and Blues Music Hall of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame. He is also noted for his work as an activist for political causes, including his 1980 campaign to make Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday a federal holiday in the U.S. In 2009, he was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace, and in 2014, he was honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Wonder was born Stevland Hardaway Judkins in Saginaw, Michigan, on May 13, 1950, the third of five children born to Lula Mae Hardaway, and the second of Hardaway's two children with Calvin Judkins. He was born six weeks premature which, along with the oxygen-rich atmosphere in the hospital incubator, resulted in retinopathy of prematurity, a condition in which the growth of the eyes is aborted and causes the retinas to detach, so he became blind.

Bom bom bom bom
I'm happier than the morning sun
And that's the way you said that it would be
If I should ever bring you inside my life
I'm happier than the morning sun
And that's the way you said that it would be
All my life I was alone
Didn't think I'd find my part
Now I see there's joy inside your arms
Every day I searched for the star
That never was in the sky
And now I see this star is on earth
And I'm happier than the morning sun
And that's the way you said that I would be
If I gave you a chance to come inside my life
And I am happier than the morning sun
And that's the way it will always be
Ever since the day you came inside of my life
Bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom
Bom bom bom I love you
Bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom
Bom bom bom I love you
And I'm happier than the morning sun
And that's the way you said that it would be
If I should ever bring you inside my life
I'm happier than the morning sun
That's the way you said it would be
If I should ever bring you inside my life
Bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom
Bom bom bom bom bom bom
Bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom
Bom bom bom I love you
Bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom bom
Bom bom bom I love you
Happier than the morning sun
That's the way you said it would be
If I should ever bring you inside my life
I'm happier than the stars above
That's the way you said that it would be
If I should ever bring you inside of my life
I believe that everyone should be
Happier than the morning sun
Happier than the morning sun
Happier than the morning sun
Happier than the morning sun
In Stevie Wonder's song "Happier Than the Morning Sun," the singer celebrates the joy and happiness that he's experiencing since bringing someone special into his life. The song is built around a simple melody, and the lyrics repeat the central message of the song again and again, reinforcing the key idea that the love in his life has brought him a newfound sense of contentment and satisfaction. In the early verses of the song, the singer reflects on the loneliness and isolation that he felt before meeting his love, searching for a star that he could never seem to find. But with this person by his side, he no longer feels alone in the world, and he marvels at the beauty of the star that he's discovered on earth.
As the song progresses, it becomes clear that the singer is deeply in love with the person who has brought him so much joy. He repeats the simple phrase "I love you" over and over again, reinforcing the depth of his feelings. The repetition of this phrase, combined with the simple melody and catchy, upbeat rhythm of the song, makes it an infectious celebration of love and happiness.
One of the most interesting things about "Happier Than the Morning Sun" is its simplicity. The lyrics and melody are both incredibly straightforward, and the song relies on repetition and a simple arrangement to create its impact. But despite this simplicity, the song is deeply moving, conveying a sense of joy and wonder that is hard to resist. Additionally, the song was released as a single in 1977 and later appeared on Stevie Wonder's album "Hotter Than July," becoming a fan favorite and one of the most memorable tracks on the album.
