Possessing a unique style of music that combines a creative blend of upbeat roots reggae with the reverberating echoes of dub, comes a man with no limit for his musical abilities. Stick Figure's music is written, recorded, and produced by Scott Woodruff, a young man from Duxbury, MA.
All of Stick Figure's songs are made by recording each instrument separately, layering several tracks on top of one another in unison.
Stick Figure recently relocated to Southern California and has picked up three new members for the live band, Brendan Dane (San Diego) on bass, Todd Smith (San Clemente) on drums and Kevin Bong (San Diego) on keys. All are incredible musicians and are surely a great addition to the Stick Figure sound. The band is currently in the process of recording their first debut album together, expecting to drop this Winter.
We Get High

So much fire burning down below
Look in my eyes and say
Tell me what happened on that day
I wish I didn't know
But I do, so
Love is so strong it cannot lie
All the pain I feel deep inside
Slipping into that place again
Where music is your only friend
The only thing to wash away
The water dripping down you face
is it you,
your not here, no
For the best. for the worst
I think I made all it up today, hey
Deep down in the ocean that is where i'll be found
head is underwater and it don't make a sound
The rock that hit the bottom got its head on the ground
There's nothing in this world that can bring us down she said
High, low
You get high, you get low
High, low
You get high, you get low
We get High!
The lyrics of the song "We Get High" by Stick Figure paint a picture of a person who is trying to escape reality and find solace in music. The opening line of the song "Take me to a place I know" suggests a desire to retreat to a familiar place. The next line, "So much fire burning down below", may represent the turmoil and chaos in the world below, which the person is trying to get away from.
In the following lines, the person seems to be asking someone else to help them deal with the pain they feel inside. They say, "Look in my eyes and say, Tell me what happened on that day, I wish I didn't know, But I do, so." This could indicate that the person is struggling with a traumatic memory, and feels overwhelmed by the emotions it brings up.
As the song progresses, the person seems to surrender to the music, describing a state of being where "music is your only friend." The music becomes a way for them to escape their pain, and "wash away" their troubles. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of someone lost in the music, slipping away into another world.
The chorus of the song, "High, low, you get high, you get low, we get high!" suggests that the person is seeking a way to deal with the ups and downs of life, and the feeling of being "high" is a way to escape from those feelings. Overall, the lyrics of "We Get High" by Stick Figure convey a sense of longing for escape, and the power of music to provide that escape.
