Nobody
Stick to Your Guns Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You're just a kid
They never noticed you because no one ever did
You don't know why but you don't mind
Your life already gives you a hard time
They saw you, your whole life, less like an underdog more like garbage
Do they know what it's like, to spend every single day with a back like a target?
A back like a target!
Woah!
For the first time I can say that I'm proud to be nobody at all
Woah!
We'll never be
We'll never see
Never believe the fucking lies they tell themselves
Don't tell me who to be
I put my faith in those who are just like me
We have no face
We have no name
And we never needed any of you anyway
Any of you anyway!
Trust me I know when you look at me you see nobody at all
Woah!
For the first time i can say that I'm proud to be nobody at all
Woah!
Proud to be nobody!
We never needed any of you anyway
Proud to be nobody!
We never needed any of you anyway
Any of you anyway!
Trust me I know when you look at me you see nobody at all
Woah!
For the first time I can say that I'm proud to be nobody at all
Woah!
We'll never be
We'll never see
Never believe the fucking lies they tell themselves
The song "Nobody" by Stick to Your Guns is about feeling invisible and overlooked by society. The lyrics describe a person who has been ignored all their life, to the point where they have become accustomed to it. They have been treated like garbage and their life has been a struggle, with a back like a target from all the negative attention they receive. The song proclaims that despite this mistreatment, the person is proud to be nobody at all, and that they, along with others like them, never needed the validation or approval of the people who have made them feel worthless.
The song is a rallying cry for those who have been marginalized by society for being different or not fitting in. It encourages people to stand up for themselves and not let others define their worth. It also challenges the lies that people tell themselves about who is valuable and who is not. The chorus repeats the phrase "Trust me I know when you look at me you see nobody at all" to drive home the point that people are more than what others see on the surface.
Overall, "Nobody" is a powerful statement about the human need for recognition and validation, and the importance of finding self-worth despite the opinions of others.

iv been going to local shows since i was 7 and im 23. iv learned from over the years, that there might be times of drama and there might be times of when scenes die down a bit but the things you get to experience is beyond the hate. i know its super cheesy hardcore mindset, but i do consider alot of people i see at shows as family. i was in a accident few years back that they had put me in a sedated comma for a week under intensive care and only had 20% rate of survival. i dont have any family were i live and when people from my local music scene found out, there was alot of people very concerned to point that people drove 2 hours to see me at the hospital. its more then just music.

That's insane.... I'm pretty sure they're glad you're okay and I would be concerned myself because I am the same way, every local show where I live has the same people and I'd freak out if I saw one of them hurt

The first time I saw Stick To Your Guns, earlier this year, I was going through a bad time in my life, I felt like "nobody" & I know that going to their show made me feel so much better.. singing my heart out & stage diving for the first ever to my favorite song by them, Amber. So this hits me right in the feels. They'll always be one of my favorite bands.
