Still Corners Lyrics

Separated by the tide
The lyrics "Like in time, you and I" suggest that the singer and the person they are referring to have a shared experience. They have both experienced something similar, but they are now separated. The line "separated by the tide" describes how a body of water divides two people, making them feel distant from each other. This line could also be interpreted metaphorically as the forces of life separating two people.
The following lines "But I hear you calling in the wind, wild and wide" suggest that despite the physical separation, the singer can still hear the other person's voice. It comes to them as a faint whisper in the wind. The lyrics create the imagery of the wind as a vehicle that carries the voice of the other person across the water to the singer, who is longing to connect with them.
Overall, the lyrics to "Circulars" convey a sense of longing for connection and the pain of separation. They explore the idea that even though two people might be physically apart, their connection can still remain strong.
