Formation and Early Success
Founded in 1994 by multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Peter Lawlor to showcase music he composed for the British Levi's television advertisement "Creek," Stiltskin rose to fame with their hit single "Inside," which reached the top of the UK Singles Chart. Despite this initial success, subsequent releases like "Footsteps" achieved moderate chart positions, with the band's original lineup releasing their debut album, "The Mind's Eye," which attained a silver record in the UK and garnered attention in the US music scene.
Changes and Continued Pursuits
Following the disbandment of the original lineup in 1996 during the recording of their unfinished second album, members pursued other projects. Lawlor continued his work in music production and composition, contributing to various high-profile projects and also delving into economics. Other former members, such as McFarlane and Wilson, ventured into different musical endeavors, with Wilson notably joining Genesis and later launching a solo career.
Revival and Recent Activities
In 2005, Wilson assembled a new lineup under the Stiltskin moniker and released the album "She" in 2006. The band toured extensively in Europe, culminating in the release of a live album in 2007. Subsequent albums followed, including "Unfulfillment" in 2011. Over the years, there have been lineup changes, with drummer Ashley Macmillan departing the band in 2015.

That's what you said
For me it was a summer that I'll never forget
The best way
To believe in the fate
It brought us both together
And I know it will again
It's more then just a moment in time
The spirit never lies
However hard you try
I could see your tears
In the lemon yellow sun
A picture of your face
Etched on my mind
There's no use trying to hide your feelings
Forgive me
For telling you straight
I'm not about to turn around
And just walk away
The best things
Come to those who wait
I'm hold on for dear life
No matter how long it takes
It's only just a question of time
There's no doubt in my mind
The spirit never lies
However hard you try
I could see your tears
In the lemon yellow sun
A picture of your face
Etched on my mind
No use trying to hide your feelings
I carry a secret I've no one to tell
There's something that I've needed to say farewell to
Follow your instincs
Listen to your soul
There's no one else who knows
No one else who truly knows
Forget me that's what you said
Forgive me but I can't forget
It's only just a matter of time
No question in my mind
The spirit never lies
However hard you try
I could see your tears
In the lemon yellow sun
A picture of your face
Etched on my mind
No use trying to hide your feelings
So tell me if I'm wrong
And that I'm not the one
Who made you feel alive
In the lemon yellow sun
I know what you're dreaming of
I know what you're feeling
I don't wanna stop myself believing

The song “Lemon Yellow Sun” by Stiltskin is a powerful ballad about a love that once was and could be again. The first verse introduces the idea of someone telling the singer to forget them, but for him it was a summer that he will never forget. He believes that fate brought them together once, and it will happen again. It’s not just a moment in time, but something more significant. The second verse brings up the theme of forgiveness, as the singer asks to be forgiven for not turning around and walking away. He believes that the best things come to those who wait, and he will hold on for as long as it takes. The chorus emphasizes the idea that the spirit never lies, even if we try to hide our feelings.
The bridge delves deeper into the singer’s emotions, as he admits that he carries a secret he has no one to tell. He needs to say farewell to something, but it’s unclear what that is. He encourages the listener to follow their instincts and listen to their soul because no one else knows what they truly need. The chorus is repeated once more, and then the song ends with the singer pleading with the listener to tell him if he’s wrong and affirm that he’s the person who made them feel alive in the lemon yellow sun. He knows what they’re dreaming of and what they’re feeling, and he doesn’t want to stop believing that they can be together again.
